SUMMER INTERNSHIP 8 Weeks


Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited Apr’16 - May’16
OBJECTIVE Establish HPCL as the most preferred brand and ensuring safety in its Retail Outlets
 Carried out extensive primary and secondary research across 8 outlets of HPCL in Udaipur
and interviewed more than 100 stakeholders to collect a comprehensive detail of this
industry
 Designed a questionnaire for the stakeholders to get the insights of their perception of HPCL
 Analyzing the data, it was found that customers have 6 preferences in choosing an outlet,
Convenience in reaching that outlet and Quality/Quantity of the fuel are the top 2
 Recognized and imbibed the value of promoting Loyalty programs and targeting a particular
segment – youths with new transport businesses, to the managers and owners of the outlets
DELIVERABLES
 Examined carefully to find the flaws in the retail outlets for e.g. – droplets of oil spill after
refueling a vehicle, using the same vessel to pour the remaining diesel and petrol into the
storage tanks, etc
 Planned a schedule, budget and layout to procure and install new safety equipment
 Applied OB & HR concepts to emphasize on the benefits by maintaining a healthy relation
among the managers and the employees, to have a sense of trust amongst the employees
