After having organized 80+ events Solarplaza
once again broke new ground in organizing the
first event focusing on PV in Argentina. Over
200 high-level stakeholders including investors,
project developers, IPP’s, EPC’s, consultants,
government representatives and experts in the
field took part in this landmark event, which took
place as the country announced it’s first ten-
der for PV projects. 3 days of high level meet-
ings, workshops and networking events took
place in Buenos Aires and Montevideo culminat-
ing in a 2-day conference held in Buenos Aires.
Participants had a chance to take part in
interactive discussions with leading decision
makers in the public as well as private sectors
and make direct suggestions and contribu-
tions directly to the Ministry of Energy for the
final draft for the regulations regarding the first
tender as well as meeting partners and
positioning themselves for further development
in this booming PV market.

Después de haber organizado más de 80 eventos,
Solarplaza abrió una vez más nuevos caminos en la
industria solar, organizando el primer evento cen-
trado en energía fotovoltaica en Argentina. Más
de 200 participantes de alto nivel, incluyendo
inversores, desarrolladores de proyectos, IPP,
EPC, consultores, representantes gubernamen-
tales y expertos en la materia participaron en
este importante evento, que tuvo lugar en el mo-
mento perfecto, justo cuando el país anunció la
primera licitación para proyectos de energía foto-
voltaica. Se llevaron a cabo 3 días de reuniones
de alto nivel, talleres y eventos de networking
en Buenos Aires y Montevideo, que culminaron
con una conferencia de 2 días que tuvo lugar en
Buenos Aires. Los participantes tuvieron la opor-
tunidad de participar en debates interactivos con
los principales encargados de tomar decisiones,
tanto en el sector público como privado, y hacer
sugerencias y aportaciones directas al Minister-
io de Energía y Minas para la versión final de las
regulaciones con respecto a la primera licitación
y la posterior evolución del mercado fotovoltaico.

The second edition of El Futuro Solar Argenti-
na took place March 2017. In the event we wel-
comed over 250 delegates at Hotel Emperador to
continue the discussions on this burgeoning mar-
ket. A great chance to meet with existing busi-
ness relations and interact with even more new
contacts. We zoomed in on the current state of
the market, where the first shovels are now hit-
ting the ground for the first projects coming forth
from the RenovAr program. Major challenges
discussed at the event account for the successful
financing of projects and the technical and envi-
ronmental constraints of specific PV hotzones.
As became clear in the fireside chat that involved
provincial decision makers, there are plenty op-
portunities for market players that are ready
to move beyond RenovAr and storm the market
with a more regional approach. It is fair to say we
“ain’t see nothing yet” when it comes to solar PV
in Argentina.

La segunda edición de El Futuro Solar, que tuvo
lugar en marzo de 2017, recibió a más de 250 del-
egados en el Hotel Emperador para discutir sobre
este mercado en expansión. Fue una gran opor-
tunidad para encontrarse con antiguos contactos
profesionales y establecer nuevas relaciones.
Durante el evento, profundizamos en el estado
actual del mercado, donde se están preparando
los cimientos de los primeros proyectos que sur-
gieron del programa RenovAr.
