Magic Of Love

Love is gentle and kind, and through love you will find I
You will find if you do, all your dreams will come true, E
The subject of this poem is announced in the title and the first stanza “It’s the wonderful
MAGIC OF LOVE” and also the last stanza “In the wonderful MAGIC OF LOVE”. Helen
Farries used caps lock to give a stressed and highlight the subject of this poem The poem is a
picture of how wonderful a love is and the love have a magic thing inside.
After read this poem repeatedly and tried to read this poem loudly, the writter found
that this poem is a rhymed poem. This poem is consist of four stanzas, sixteen lines, and each
stanza consist of four lines. This poem bring an unique rhyme construction. “Rhyme is a way
of creating sound patterns. Rhyme words often have similar spellings or sound alike”
(Literature to Go, 2011, pp 64-65). In the first stanza it is ryhiming abcb, for the second stanza
it is rhyming defe, for the third stanza it is rhyming ghih, and last stanza the writter found an
jbeb rhyme.
The writter also found an internal ryhme, “Internal rhyme is places at least one of the
rhymed words within the line.” (Literature to go – Michael Mayer) in the first and the third line
What sounds are dominant in the poem that you read? The words “wonderful”, “magic”,
“love”, “gift”, “light”, “joy”, “all”, have fiercing vowel sound because there are the words that
consist of stresses and give more meaning than the others. “give”, “love”, “night”, “bright”,
consonant sounds at the beginnings of nearby words” (Literature to go). In Magic Of Love
poem by Helen Farries the writter find the alliteration in the second line of the third stanza
“troubles are lighter to bear” in the word “troubles”, “are”, “lighter” and “bear” it can be
considered as alliteration because the consonant “r” sound almost in every word. The second
allieration found in the first line of the third stanza, “love”, “light”. It can be considered as
alliteration because the consonant “;” sound is dominant and shown almost in every word.
