Education
University of Massachusetts Amherst, Class of 2019
Computer Science major, Studio Art minor
3.1 GPA

Objective
To gain real-world experience as a computer science major that will give me an edge in
the industry as well as inforce ideas related to my area of study.

Major Experience
The following is a list of courses I have completed or I am currently enrolled in that
display relevance to the position being applied for.

Introduction to Problem Solving/Computer Science

An introduction to programming with Java and a general idea of how to approach problems that the average
computer scientist faces.
Programming with Data Structures
Further instruction with Java programming and a look into how data structures work and how computer
scientists may use them to solve problems.
Programming Methodology
Introduction to programming languages other than Java, such as python. A deep look into programming
design and structure of thinking. Regular projects and quizzes that assess ability to perform difficult
problems given to computer scientists.
Introduction to SQL development.
Introduction to Computation
Course that is heavily math based in which the critical thinking required behind a computer scientist is
established. Regular homework and quizzes which test the computer scientists ability to think critically and
apply concepts.
Computer Systems Principles
Course that teaches C programming and how the language interacts with the underlying processes and
hardware of the computer.

Reasoning Under Uncertainty

Course that focuses on probability and reasoning.

Software Engineering
An introduction to the software engineering process; students are broken up into teams of 10, where each
team is assigned a team manager, and the students work on a project for Hewlett-Packard Enterprises all
semester, presenting a final project to a representative of the company.

Algorithms
The design and analysis of efficient algorithms for important computational problems. Emphasis on the
relationships between algorithms and data structures and on measures of algorithmic efficiency. Sorting
(heapsort, mergesort, quicksort), searching, graph algorithms. Experimental analysis of algorithms also
emphasized.

Practice & Application of Data Management

Computing has become data-driven, and databases are now at the heart of commercial applications. The
purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the use of data management systems
within the context of various applications. Some of the covered topics include application-driven database
design, schema refinement, implementation of basic transactions, data on the web, and data visualization.

Co-Curricular Activities
Marching Band, Art minor, Percussion Ensembles, Drum Corps. While not necessarily
related to my field of study, these activities give me an edge as they teach me leadership,
hard work, consistency, motivation, and independence.

Skills
Strong Typing skills, Strong english language skills, experience with Adobe Suite as well
as microsoft office suite. Strong musician as well with experience in music technology.
Programming experience:
-Java, Python, C, SQL (Postgres)
-Some: Javascript, HTML, CSS
