THEME: “THE WRITTEN DOCUMENT”

Everyone that ever did great things for God and that finished strong discovered something from
the book. They lived and succeeded based on what they discovered. Others followed after the
footsteps of those who discovered something and also had landmark achievements.

Consequently, some were victims of evil written documents. Others overcame, became victors
and by divine orchestration had a Godly document written on their behalf which brought glory to
God.

Now the question is; what was it that they discovered? What did they know that others did not
know? They reigned above all through their lifetime on earth. It was obvious that they were
transformed by what they discovered. I think this made them “extraordinary” men. A good
example in the bible was our lord Jesus Christ who had a written document written of his life
before he was conceived, born and before his death. However, Jesus discovered what was written
of him. He did not just discover what was written about him but lived by it step wisely. No
wonder he declared while He was on the cross saying, “It is finished….” (John 19:30). This can
also be your testimony if you will also discover the place where it is written of you. Friend!
there is something written about you in the document of God which is also called “the
scriptures”. For example, Jesus’ birth, life on earth, death and resurrection was fulfilled
according to the written scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3 &4). Another example was Daniel who
discovered a written document in the book of the prophet Jeremiah (Daniel 9: 2). He discovered
by understanding that the children of Israel were to be in Babylon as exiles for seventy years
only. He did not realize this until he understood what was written in the prophetic book. Today,
many have lost the reading culture. Yet there is something to discover. Thus, for you to discover
you must go back to the book. Remember, there are books in Heaven (Malachi 3:16). This
reveals that you must seek for the understanding of that which is written about you from the
Holy Spirit. It is the knowledge of the Holy one that makes the difference. Another instance were
the sons of Issachar who understood the time and knew what Israel ought to do (1 chronicles 12:
32).

Brethren! Understanding is what distinguishes one person from another. It was understanding
that made Paul a distinguished apostle amongst other apostles of Jesus Christ. Joseph was
distinguished from his brothers by his understanding that he feared God and departed from evil
which also made him highly favored. It was the same with Job. Pilate also had a good
understanding of the written document. No wonder he said, “What I have written I have
written” (John 19:22). I can see God saying the same thing of you saying “what I have written I
have written” and no one can change it. Listen! No one can stop what is written about you from
being fulfilled except you. However, you must holdfast to your discovery to reign above.

1
WAYS TO DISCOVER THE WRITTEN DOCUMENT

You cannot reign above until you’ve discovered that which is written. You cannot also engage
the written document until understand how to access it. Some of these ways include,

(a) Prayer and fasting: is a way of accessing the realm of the spirit. You cannot discover
that which is written about you except you engage the power of prayers and fasting.
Inotherwords, if you must find the written document about you, then you have to fast and
pray. Remember that Jesus Christ did not just found the place until He engaged the power
of prayer and fasting. Then he entered the temple and he was given the scroll where he
discovered his purpose (Luke 4:17-19). Remember that Daniel could not access the
prophetic book until he prayed and fasted (Daniel 9:3-4, 21-23 & 10:1-3).
(b) Study: is another way to access the written document. This is done by observation and
looking into the details of the reason why you are living. One of the ways you study is by
books because it contains the details of specific subjects for example Daniel could not
understand until he studied the book of the prophet Jeremiah(Daniel 9:2). Also Ezra
devoted himself to the study and observance of the law of the lord. Even the scripture s
revealed that we should study to show ourselves as approved work men of God that
needs not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth( 2 Timothy 2 :15). You have
to study to know the things written about you so that men will not give you an identity
that is not God.
(c) Revelation: is what opens you up to things you never knew. You can’t have revelation if
you don’t pray. However, there are some things written about you whichyou.ve not
discovered but by the revelation of the Holy Spirit you can know them. If you cooperate
with the Holy Spirit He will reveal the written code about you to you (1 Corinthians 2:9-
10). The bible says “the secret things belong to God but the things revealed belong to us
and our children forever ….”(Deuteronomy 29:29). For you to access the written
episodes of your life, all you need to do is to ask for the revelation of God. For example
john the Baptist saw the revelation of Jesus as the lamb while Isaiah saw him as
Immanuel which means God with us.
(d) Prophecy: is a gift of God‘s spirit that enables us to see, hear and say what God says and
can also be seen as speaking through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit by the enablement
of His written word. This means you can also access the spoken word of God or the
voice of God through the written scripture.
(e) Meditation: is having a deep thought on the written word of God. It is one of the surest
ways of accessing the deep things of God even in bible days (Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1: 3). In
the book of Daniel 8:15–17, Daniel understood the vision by meditation (deep thoughts).
David said “I have more understanding than all my teachers for thy testimonies are my
meditation. (Psalm 119:99). This reveals that Meditation opens our understanding so we
might see clearly. The truth is that you cannot practice the act of meditation on the

written word of God and not understand the power and life that it gives. May the grace of
God to do this be released upon you now! In Jesus’ name. Amen!

USING THE WRITTEN DOCUMENT AS A WEAPON

It is interesting to also understand that you can use the written document as a weapon.
Weapons we know are things used for destruction. The bible says that the weapons we
fight with are not carnal (sensual) but they have capacity to pull down strongholds (2
Corinthians 10:4). It reveals the possibility of using the written document as a weapon to
fight the enemy. Our arch enemy is Satan and cannot be overcome by your eloquence or
mere words but with the weapon of the written document of the Holy Spirit which is the
word of God. For example when Jesus was tempted of the devil, the devil came with the
weapon of the written document yet could not succeed because Jesus overcame him with
the weapon of a higher written document. No wonder Jesus Christ answered the devil all
through the temptation saying, “it is written ……” and at other instances he said, “It is
also written….” (Matthew 4:4-11). The truth you must understand is that you can
challenge the devil or whatever is challenging you by the power of the written document.
However, for you to this, you must discover it first. When you’ve discovered it victory is
assured. Another example was Daniel who was thrown into the lions’ den as a result of
disobeying an evil decree which was written against him. However, God showed forth his
supremacy when He preserved him and brought him out of the lion’s den.
Consequently, those who connived to attack Daniel with the written decree of their law
became victims of the decree they made and eventually became meat for the lions
alongside their families. However, the king Darius wrote another decree to favour Daniel
and for all in his kingdom to reverence the living God (Daniel 6:1-26).
Listen! Have you been caught in a web of an evil written document? Or are there those
angry because you’ve been promoted? Therefore, I decree by the power of the most high
God that you are coming out victorious in Jesus’ name. Amen! Remember, the Bible
says, “He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it…” (Ecclesiastes 10:8, Proverbs 26:27). As
the enemies of Daniel were destroyed by the lions so shall your enemies be destroyed in
Jesus name! Amen! Just as Apostle Paul prayed a prayer saying “…and the lord …will
preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom….” (2 Timothy 4:18) so shall the lord preserve
you till you entre your glory in Jesus name. Amen!
However, haven known this aforementioned truths, we must also understand that the
written document can also be provoked in various ways. Some of which are

1. Your tongue: your tongue is a vital tool which you can use to write just as you use a
pen to write. Remember the bible says “the lord has made my tongue like a pen of a
ready writer…” (Psalm 45:1b). Similarly, it means you can use it just as you use a
pen to write. You may ask “how do I use it to write?” Firstly, you use it except by the
instruction of the Lord. Remember the psalmist says it was the lord that made his

3
tongue like a pen. Remember the experience of Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones. It
was the Lord that commanded Ezekiel to speak to the dry bones and as he spoke
bones aligned themselves to each other.
You can also write with your tongue by speaking prophetically in the spirit saying
what God says. Remember, the Bible says “he that speaks in an unknown tongue
speaks not unto men but unto God…” (1 Corinthians 14:2). You can do this by
engaging it in the place of prayer. When you pray in an unknown tongue you are
speaking (writing) to God. However, this is not possible except by the revelatory
power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26). Therefore, you must learn to depend on him.

2. Your thoughts and your reverence: this is another way you can provoke a
document to be written on your behalf. You do this by directing the thoughts of your
heart towards God and by reverencing Him as the supreme God. The Bible revealed
this in Malachi 3:16, saying, “they that feared the lord spake to one another and the
lord hearkened, and heard it and a book of remembrance was written before him
for them that feared the lord and that thought upon his name.”
You can think upon his love, glory, wisdom, power and greatness. This is what we
sometimes call meditation. You fear God by departing from evil (job 28:28), by
walking in wisdom (proverbs 9:10) and by doing what God says (Deuteronomy 4:6).
If you do this continually his life will become yours and whatever you write will be
his mind(his commandments) (Exodus 31:18) and no power will be able to stop you
from achieving God’s agenda good scriptural example was John the Baptist who lived
according to that which was written of him. Remember he testified about it when he
answered the authorities saying, “I am the voice of one calling forth in the desert,
prepare ye the way of the lord……” (Matthew 3:3, john 1:23). Similarly, Jesus
Christ spoke when he said of him saying, “….but I tell you Elijah has come and they
have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.”(Mark
9:13). Jesus confirmed this prophecy about John the Baptist and that the prophecy
was fulfilled according to the written document.

CONCLUSION
Having known these aforementioned truths, are you now ready to discover what is
written in the volume of books? If you are, then you must provoke and walk in the
light of the will of God for you in the written document.
Remember, Jesus Christ did not just live on the earth without a written document of
his life but he discovered it and fulfilled it by the enablement of the Holy Ghost
(Hebrews 10:7, Luke 4:17-22). However, you also need the help of the Holy Spirit to
assist you to uncover those promises written of you; in your destiny, career, family,
ministry, calling, purpose and everything God has committed unto you.

4
Listen! That you’ve not discovered it does not mean it is not there. Your
responsibility is to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to help you find out what it is and
walk in the light of it as Jesus Christ did. Remember he said, “…..here I am – it is
written about me in the scroll- I have to do your will, my God.”(Hebrews 10:7). May
the grace to discover and do God’s will be released upon you now in Jesus’ name.
Amen! Glory!!!

Truth corner
“Discovery is the key to fulfilling purpose”
“Purpose Discovery makes you a potential problem solver”
“Purpose fulfillment makes you a problem solver”
The question is what have you discovered? What have you found?
The truth is, there is something to discover. And if you have, then you must also
rediscover to reign higher in this life and to reign above the limitations of men.
Also, you must never forget that you cannot reign above if you never discover. For
example, john the Baptist discovered that a man can receive nothing except he is
given from heaven above (john 3:27). Job said; I will wait until my change comes. He
is revealing to us that there is the God who can transform a person irrespective of
background or challenges of life. Another was the prophet Jeremiah who discovered
the word of God and ate them and they became the rejoicing of His soul (Jeremiah
15:16). Also, our perfect example Jesus Christ discovered His purpose as it was
written in the prophetic book of Isaiah and gave voice to it by declaring it in to
existence (Luke 4:17-18,Isaiah 61:1). You also must discover a word from God that
will make you rise above ordinary challenges that befall mere men. Brethren! We
have no excuse not to discover and speak the word of God. The world is waiting for
your discovery. Your discovery brings about your manifestation. Everything we are
using today is a result of a man’s discovery. Therefore, discover and use your
discovery to uproot evil, plant good, build kingdoms for God and reign above only
because that is where you are made for (Colossians 3:1-4, Ephesians 2:6, john 14:3) .
When you do this, you will walk in undeniable glory.

Invitation to salvation:
You must be born again if you must receive the written document. To do this say this
prayer; “Lord Jesus I confess that am a sinner, I come to you today, I believe that
you died for me, forgive me of my sins, come into my heart, be the lord and savior
of my life ,write my name in the book of life. Help me to live a life of holiness in
Jesus name. Amen!”
