De las varias distribuciones de valores extremos hay dos que tienen mayor
aceptación, al haber demostrado que se ajustan bien al fenómeno de las crecidas
de los ríos: la distribución de valores extremos tipo I o ley de Gumbel y la distribución
log-Pearson tipo III.
