Clara has really taken ownership of her project now. She has taken some limited initial data and
is in the process of judging whether the amount of data is adequate for definitive results. If not,
there is still time to comtinue collecting data. Clara has been keeping me up to date on her plans
and progress each week. I encourage Clara to continue engaging with me with any issues or
concerns.
I am significantly happier with what I have accomplished this quarter versus the other
two quarters. Mostly due to the fact that I am taking fewer classes at Howard Community
College so I have more time, I found that I was able to focus more on my making my work better
than just good enough. I’ve gotten more done that is actually relevant to my topic, and I’ve been
more focused on site. This quarter, one big change that I made was keeping you more informed
through biweekly emails, and I think that strategy helped me significantly because I could keep
myself more on track by talking to you, and I could also get more feedback. Knowing that you
wanted to communicate with me also motivated me to ask more questions more often. In terms
of what I’ve been doing, At the end of last quarter, I had just changed my topic to a traffic
modeling problem, so this quarter has been about working on that with background research and
logistics of working through the project. I spent a long time researching more about my topic and
writing a background paper that I felt was actually decent in representing the content.
Additionally, I brainstormed a procedure for data collection and analysis, and I actually began to
collect data. Now I will be shifting into more data analysis and determining if the data I have is
good enough. Going forward, my main goals will be to maintain my activity level and not let my
energy drop off as the end of the school gets closer. I want to make sure that I continue to follow
my evenly spaced timeline and close out my project a little before the end of the year.
