Planning activities that allow students to clarify, question, apply, and consolidate new
knowledge.
What is an active learning environment? What are its benefits? How does it link to the
inquiry cycle?
Active learning environment is having students engaged in the lesson would want to cooperate
with each other and participate as an individual/whole group. It is important for teachers to
help students learn new skills by planning lessons that allows them to learn actively in the
classroom. Both active learning environment and inquiry cycle use, are tools used by teachers
to develop children’s critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, and creativity. The benefits
of active learning is that it allows the student to exercise their critical thinking, improve their
ability to recall information, and teach them to participate in discussions. The teacher should
take in each students learning style into consideration when planning and active learning
lesson in order to provide activities that will engage various learners. Students should be
placed in a classroom where they can be engaged and explore freely.

Which activity engaged most students? Why do you think this happened?
The activity that engaged the entire class was Math – filling in the missing numbers, where the
each student received a random flashcard with a number on it and had to hide it from the
others. The students were engaged because this activity required their full attention, if the
students happened to get distracted they wouldn’t know when it’s their turn to come up and
