new plant.

2. ______________: a seed with roots growing downward

and a shoot growing upward.

3._______________: a small plant.

Days Seven, Eight, and-Nine: Research Project!

Hello Scientists!
For the next THREE days you will be doing research
about a specific plant that is native to Pennsylvania! You have
learned a LOT about plants over the last week, and now it is
time to show it!
Here are the questions we are asking you find the
answers to in your research!

1. Where is the plant native to?

2. What part of Pennsylvania can you find this plant?
3. Can you find it elsewhere in the United States?
4. When is the plant in season?
5. Does this plant bloom into a flower? A fruit? Neither?
6. How tall does it grow? (In inches or centimeters)
7. What does the plant look like? (Find a picture online or
draw!)
8. What different colors can it bloom into?

Your task will be to complete this research and create a

poster with all of your information! This will be presented on
FRIDAY! This project can be completed in THREE STEPS:
Step 1: (Day 7) read assignment description, pick plant,
and begin research!
Step 2: (Day 8) continue research, and begin poster.
Step 3: (Day 9) finish research, and finish poster!
**Work at your OWN pace! This is just a suggested plan!**

16
17

Hello! Part of your

research asks you
to find out where
else in the United
States your plant
grows!

Your task is to find

out those places,
and color in those
states on this map.
You will be putting
this map on your
final poster!
