Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing
I taught lesson “Qq” for English lesson that I prepared for my MCT observing. I prepared several
activities that suits with all students and can solve it. Also, I prepared one more activity that for
students who finished the other three activities. The first, activity is to stick the quill on the litter
“Q”, second activity is: stick the quail members on the “Q” and the last activity is stick crown on
the letter “Q” for queen. The additional activity was to find the “q’s” and circle it. And my
assessment for the lesson was to give students small paper for writing the letter in capital and
small case. In the end, of this lesson I felt the students got the concept of the lesson and were able
to identify the letter.

Describe (D):
Who is the lesson for?
Where did the lesson take place?
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
What did the students do?
On 27 February 2018, I taught an English lesson was about letter “Qq” for KG2-c students, and
they are between 4 to 5 years old in Alkamal American School. The environment that my MST
used to teach them is the classroom so I chose it too. Because, it suits with my materials and stuff
that I have to teach students with. I tried to achieve my main goal is managing students during the
class time or while giving them the lesson. In addition, I worked to have the teacher character in
front the students that they can respect and respond to my instructions. Also, I tried that students
can get the objective of the lesson and get the point of the lesson. What I saw that students were
involved with lesson, did the activities and interact with me if I asked or request them for
something.
Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
How well did you engage the students?
I think that students were respond to me because of the way that I used to let them be excited. For
example using the emotional expressions that show to students the teacher is excited so they will
be excited too. Also, they responds to me because they don’t work on hands-on activities, they
depends on the books for almost subjects. I connected tis lesson to the prior letter I gave them in
last week was about letter “Pp”, they were able to remember the words and sound that related to
this letter. I engaged the students by giving a quick activity for whole class in the white board, let
them knows words about the letter “Qq” that forms letter “Q” shape. Also, the song that I used to
introduce the letter “Qq” helped me to engage the students. In addition, using flash cards that has
pictures helped the students to connect the pictures with letter.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?
I felt that students interacted with me and liked the kinds of activities. I noticed that some
students were connected the letter “Qq” to the math lesson was about “shapes”. For instance, they
draw a quiet face and said “q” for quiet, so that I noticed that the letter establish on their mind
and they got the concept. In addition, I felt I achieved my teaching goals when I make a review
such as: write the letter on the small laminated papers, and asked them to remind me how the
letter “Qq” sound.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice?
I will prepare more challenging activities that high level students can work on it. Also, I will use
more strategies to control the class and let them be busy with activities. So, I noticed that when
they worked and busy they were quieter. The implication for professional practice that take my
MST,MCT improvement points and work on them, work on development area. I will work on
what let me be more professional and have the teacher character.
