PREVALANCE OF HYALOMMA IMPELTATUM (IXODIDAE) ON BUFFALO FROM DISTRICT LARKANA

ABTRACT

Ticks are Ectoparasite belongs to phylum Arthropod class Arachnida. Almost all the ticks
belong to two major families Ixodidae (hard ticks) and Argasidae (soft ticks).A Total 17
collections were performed from different farms of larkana. During the study period march to
September 2017. Out of 100 animals surveyed, 25 animals founded infested with ticks from 1 genera
of family ixodidae. Total 25 ticks identified. From which 15 male and 10 female were identified
through taxonomical keys .Ticks species were identified from 1 genera hylomma impeltatum. After
collection of, Ticks were preserved in glycerine, and identified by binocular microscope at
Entomology laboratory of Zoology Department at University of Sindh Jamshoro sindh Pakistan.
