1.1 Foreword
This document describes how to proceed for the right installation of Albatros.

Albatros can be installed and configured to operate with "remote" Systems in which the Hardware
(C ompact5, C n2008 and C n2128) that implements the control is connected to the PC . For this installation
reference is made to the chapter "Installation for remote module".

It can also be installed and configure to operate with "Local" systems in which the hardware that
implements the control is mounted directly on the user's system interface, that is the PC . For this
installation reference is made to the chapter "Installation for local module".

1.2 Requisiti minimi del sistema per installare Albatros

2.4 Configuration of Albatros

2.4.1 Assigning a remote module to a logic module
After completing setup and checking for a correct IP address remote module, the module can be used as
control unit.

In the case of a single machine (that is one only remote module), automatic recognition of a new
module is foreseen. For automatic recognition, the remote module should be switched on about 1 minute
before running Albatros. Recognition is performed during Albatros startup only; therefore it is important
to respect startup sequence. As soon as Albatros detects the remote module, it prompts the user
displaying a dialog box. If the user confirms the use of the module, the module is automatically initialised
and configured by Albatros.

In case of plants made of more than one remote module you need to configure the remote modules
manually.
Get the item Network Connections from the menu CNC of Albatros. C onsider next the assignment of a
single module, for the other modules the operations are the same.
To connect the remote module, we have to select "Not configured" by means of the mouse pointer or to
select the button Edit. A few seconds later a window containing the list of the remote modules available
on websites will appear (the module must be switched on and it must have received an IP address
correctly).

Now, select the remote module, if you want to connect to the module and confirm your choice by
pressing the button.
After having assigned the remote modules, confirm by pressing the button [OK]. Albatros will initialize
the modules configured in this way (this operation will be taking a few seconds)

Notice that this operation can be carried out at a "Service" password level, without having to access
Albatros's System configuration for which a "Manufacturer" password level is required.

5 Ethernet over EtherCAT configuration

Managing the Ethernet over EtherC AT (EoE) protocol on the Tpa control allows you to use the calibration
softwares made by the manufacturers of the EtherC at devices, by exploiting the same communication
channel without disconnecting the existing cables for the connection to the device to be calibrated.
The nodes you want to communicate with must support this protocol.

Restriction on use:
EoE protocol can be used:
with monomodule configurations;
when the communication between the calibration software for third parts and EtherC AT remote devices
occurs through the TC P/IP protocol. The current version of the EoE service implemented in the Tpa
controls does not supports protocols such as UDP or like these.
only if the node of the network to which you want to connect is in OPERATIONAL status.

5.1 Network configuration to use the EoE protocol in remote

modules
To use the EoE protocol on remote modules you need to:

1) check that the IP address of the network connection with the remote modules is 172.16.2.1;
2) the remote module and the EtherC AT nodes must be physically connected;
3) open the tpa.ini file through a test editor (notepad), stored in the Albatros installation folder as follows:
in the section [Firmware.Aux] add the BridgeEoEremote=SnifferCE.exe key;
in the section [CNCTPA] add the SetupFirmware=ALL key;
save and close tpa.ini;
4) click the Start button (Windows-Logo), then in the Windows search box type cmd and press the [CTRL
+SHIFT+ENTER] keys. If the user account control box appears, confirm by clicking [Yes]. Type on
the command line:

netsh interface ipv4 add neighbours "<interface_name>" <IP_Address> <MAC _address>

where:
<interface_name> is the number of the Etherrnet connection of PC supervisor to C NC (for exampe
"Ethernet"),
<IP_address> is the IP address of the EoE device. The value is assigned by the EtherC AT master
according to the following rule:
IP=172.16.2.n where n is 100+address of the node (from 1 on)
<MAC_address> is the MAC address of the EoE device. The value is assigned by the EtherC AT
master according to the following rule:
MAC =00-14-1D-00-00-00+n where n is the address of the node (from 1 on).

This command should be executed for each individual EoE device in the network. For example, to
configure two EoE devices please type:

netsh interface ipv4 add neighbors “Ethernet” 172.16.2.101 00-14-1D-00-00-01

and
netsh interface ipv4 add neighbors “Ethernet” 172.16.2.102 00-14-1D-00-00-02

To check that the commands were executed properly, type:

netsh interface ipv4 show neighbors "<interface_name>"

In the resulting table a record for each assigned IP address should appear and the value assigned in
the Type column should be Permanent.

5) Run Albatros

6 Enhance Write Filter - embedded systems

In the embedded filters the use of the write filter will be instrumental in achieving systems that start
exactly as they were configured in the factory. The write filter also prevents extraneous agents (viruses
or the same end-users) from changing the system and compromising its correct operation. However,
when you need to install a new program, first of all you must disable the write filter. Install and restore
the write filter.

Enabling and disabling the write filter

Double click the ManSys program in the C:\windows\tpa folder.
To change the status of the filter, you need a "constructor" password.

The “Current status for partition C:” box shows the status of the filter: Read-only for enabled write
filter. Read-write for disabled write filter. Press the [Change] button to change the status of the filter.
If you switch from Read-write to Read-only, then press [OK] to restart the system. On the contrary,
switching from Read-only to Read-write does not require to restart the operating system.

7 System access levels

The system can be used in the following four different work modes, also referred to as "access levels":

User
is the level with the most access restrictions. It does not allow modification of any of the device settings.
It is the level used for machining and normal machine operations. When the system is booted this access
level is automatically enabled.
Service
is the level used for regular machine maintenance. The operator should be able to modify certain
configuration parameters, without altering the structure of the machine.
Manufacturer
is the level used to configure plants and machines. At this level almost any kind of modification is
possible. It is used by developers.
Tpa
is the highest access level of the system. Its function is to protect access to particularly delicate settings,
modification of which requires a detailed knowledge of Albatros. The access password must be requested
directly from T.P.A. S.p.A. It can be used also to stop any modification.

Access to each mode depends on knowledge of the corresponding password, the "User" level has the
lowest access level, whereas "Tpa" has the highest access level.
To access a particular level proceed as follows:
1. with at least one Albatros application open, press the CTRL+* (asterisk) key combination, and a dialog
box appears on the screen prompting the user to enter the password. Alternatively, click on the . icon
at the right end of the Windows' "applications bar" with the right mouse button to view a menu in which
the Change pass level command appears.
2.enter the password for the particular level and select the [ OK ] button.
If the password is not correct the error message "Warning! Wrong password!!" will appear.
Once the password is entered the corresponding access level is obtained. To confirm the access level
select, in Albatros, Help->About Albatros.

8 System language
Albatros is capable of displaying the text in a number of languages. Normally the support is provided in
nine languages:
C zech
French
English
Italian
Dutch
Polish
Russian
Spanish
German
Apart from these, it is possible to extend the support to other languages if necessary. The greatest
difficulties are presented by languages such as oriental languages which use a special set of characters
or don't use the left>right orientation typical of western languages.
To change a language proceed as follows:
while any Albatros application is open, press the CTRL+/ (division sign on the numeric keypad) key

combinationor select the icon from Windows "applications bar". In the now opening window select
the language required and click on [OK].
The language does not change immediately; but at the following restart of Albatros.

8.1 Configuring Albatros user interface language

Albatros user interface language is configured in tpa.ini file, stored in the Albatros installation folder. In
the section [TPA] the key Language=, followed by the three letters that identify the language (second
column of the following table), specifies the user interface language. For instance, to set Danish as
interface language, you must write
[Tpa]
Language=DAN

Before we can use as interface language the system operating language, Language=WIN must be set.

In the section [Winmess] the key Languages= followed by a sequence of three letters (second column
of the following table) separated by ',' (comma) sets the list of the languages that are shown in the dialog
box to change the language. For example, if in the list of the languages you need to make it possible to
choose danish and the Norvegian languages as well, you must write in tpa.ini
[Winmess]
Languages=DAN,NOR
English, French, German, Spanish and Italian do not need to be included in this list.

Furthermore, an alternative language can be assigned, if in a particular language file the interface
language cannot be found. In the section [Winmess] the key DefaultLanguage= followed by the three
letters identifying the substitute language (second column of the following table) must be added.
Suggestion: this one should belong to the nine basic languages.

All the languages in the list below can be used in the XMLNG files, whereas for the LNG files, you can only
use those languages marked by
