communism in America.

Communism is the most
frightening thing on the horizon
for Americans today. For the can
simply not coexist. Communism

corrupting its leaders and
citizens into working an unfair
portion and being unfairly. It is
for this reason that communism
is theft, stealing from the
hardworking, and pure evil.
Communism breeds bad

fall of Capitalism, but the fall of
the human race and life as we
know it here on Earth.
According to Robert Benchley in
'The Making of a Red he
describes how a everyday,
average, model, American citizen
is corrupted slowly into believing
that communism is a system that
might actually work and is
turned into a terrible human
who is counter productive to
society and shows how as he
talked poorly about the war that
he clearly must have become a
communist who hates America
and is set in their ways to destroy
it. The main character, Peter, not
only is hated by all of his peers,
he starts to not only neglect his
mind, but his body and he
transforms into a raggedy old
person attempting, and failing, to
spread Bolshevism. These dew
dropper communists are especially
tricky because they make the way
of communism seem almost
rational in a way, but communism
is purely evil and you shouldn?t
even listen to these radical ideas
because they have a way of
plaguing the mind and clouding
one's judgment. Especially in these
time with all the youth with their
constantly changing ideology
taking wooden nickels from
anything that can fit into their
egocentric world-view. The
reason communism cannot even
be considered is because it is very
persuasive, but only leads to the
destined end of all nations even in
proximity of the system. This
means that with the rise of
communism means the fall of
democracies and republics and
capitalism and freedom, but if
freedom perseveres then we will
surely defeat our most slipperiest
foe; communism. Communism
has stolen so much from nations
that use it and the adoption of
such a system would cause,
according to the Attorney General
A. Mitchell, would ?steal, murder
and lie to good, honest,
hardworking American citizens.
Communism has nothing but
faults whereas Capitalism and
Democracy have no downfalls
whatsoever. Russians and
Communist, one in the same,
release ridiculous propaganda
during wartimes against the U.S.
Thankfully that the U.S. has
enough integrity to only display
the facts, even during wartimes.
Communism, on the political
spectrum, is an extreme radical of
the left meaning, as any extreme
radicals, that it is unstable and not
expected to work under true
communism for more than a
decade or so, until they either
adopt a real system of
government or devolve into
anarchy or some other form of
pseudo- communist government
ploy. Socialism, is another slight
lesser evil, but is nearly one in
the same as communism.
Socialism is, however, more
approachable than communism
making it, oftentimes, even more
dangerous and contagious as it is
easier to rationalize. Socialism
has no part in a capitalist society
and can simply not exist on its
own. As a matter of fact
socialism is simply the transitory
phase from capitalism to
communism meaning that if we
have any socialist behaviors in
the slightest we are already on
the path to destruction if it is not
already too late. The fact that
socialism cannot exist on its own
shows how unstable and easy it is
for it to tip into the pure evil of
communism. As long as America
is the pioneer for freedom and
this evil of communism and
socialism still exists in the world
then we as American citizens will
always toe the line of pure
anarchy.

In the era of the roaring 20?s,
our country has experienced
quite a bit. From the major boom
in jazz music to the changing
roles of women, clearly the most
amazing, complete best, most
impactful advancement of this
time was the expansion of the
radio. Through the radio,
advertisers have gained even
more opportunities to share the
pointless, unimportant facts of
their new business. As if we
didn?t hear enough about their
lousy businesses elsewhere?
newspapers, magazines etc.
Americans seem to not be able to
understand the true effects of the
radio. ?It is fantastic!?They say,
?It informs us of current politics!?
It serves as entertainment!?
There is so much hype about the
radio, as if it is the cure to all our

didn?t just happen and as if 18
million people in the world
hadn?t just died in the war. Sure
the radio allows you to stay
updated and entertained without
having to go through the

gave women the right to vote,
and now they are taking it

children for our country. Given

Alcohol; The Liquid That

F or decades, our
country has struggled in the
debate over the use of alcohol and
how it should be regulated.
W omen, who have struggled for
power in our society for over 100
years, have pushed the hardest for
the government to ban all liquor as
they see how it takes over the mind
of young men and women. After
the passage of the 18th
Amendment in 1920, the
government finally decided to take
control of the issue by banning the
manufacture, sale, or
transportation of intoxicating
liquors to or from the United
States. This marked the beginning
of a new age for all of America.
From my point of view, we
have nothing to lose from the
consumption of alcohol; a
substance that has shaped our
country and makes us the people
who we are today. The problem is
that men and women are
consuming too much, contributing
to a higher crime rate, and causing
all sorts of other problems under
the influence of Old Max?s drink.
However, We don?t need a
government full of rich hypocrites
telling us how to live
our life. W ith this, I tell you that
intoxicating liquors could hold the
key to all of our problems both
domestically and politically.
In the words of Samuel H.
Church in his essay entitled, ?The
Greatest Mistake in the W orld,?
stated that, ?Moved by the deep
emotions of the war, we have
indolently permitted a
well-organized and enormously
financed body composed of zealots,
fanatics and bigots? to insert a
Draconian statute in the great
charter of our liberties.?We learn
from this that there is really not a
single person in the United States
who does not drink except for the
small 5 percent of the population
who is against it. These people who
are far and few have infiltrated our
ranks while we are at our weakest
and have taken away our right to
consume this all mighty liquid. And
for all we know, they could be just as
heavy of drinkers as many other
people!
W hen the 18th Amendment
was passed, prohibition agents
would confiscate barrels of alcohol
and spill them into the sewers or
store them in government
warehouses (The Dry Years). Talk
about a waste of money! This liquor
and all liquor has the potential to
make great sums of wealth for the
government and other businesses in
the community. For example, young,
lively people following the current
culture would go to bars, parties, or
other social venues of the sort with
alcohol. Here, they will spend their
money to buy multiple drinks for
themselves and their sweetheart.
Once in their system, the alcohol will
start to take effect. However, these
effects will bring in revenue for
other parts of the community.
One effect of course will be
not being able to think straight. This
may result in people buying things
that they would normally not buy
while they were sober, and
support various stores and
companies in the community. This
also means that there is no longer a
need for advertisement. People
under the influence will also always
be participating in activities that
could result in injury to themselves
or the people around them. This
will keep the hospitals filled which
means that they will continue to be
heavily funded and be able to
support more people across the
country. Finally, due to the alcohol,
the crime rate will most likely go
up significantly. This will keep
local police and state militias busy
and heavily funded. They might as
well have something to do because
it sure doesn?t seem like they?re
trying to enforce the law of
prohibition. Many people such as

letters in vain as they try to call on
the police to help stop the illegal
sale and consumption of alcohol

Alcohol has made our
society into what it is today and we
should be forever thankful for that.
However, we decide to ban it and
take it away from those who
depend on it for a living. Through
alcohol, we could support our
entire community. Sure crime rates
and accidents may go up, but all of
that will go to support our police,
militias, and hospitals. So in the
end, we really have nothing to lose
with intoxicating liquors. We win
some and we lose some but in the
end, we make the United States a
better place for us all.

In this political cartoon, Uncle Sam is shown adding "ingredients" to a giant pot that
entitled, "The Melting Pot." This pot represents the diversity of the American population as more
and more immigrants pour in. Uncle Sam has a funnel which he is putting the immigrants or the
"ingredients" through a funnel which says "1924 Immigration Act." This act limited the number of
immigrants that were allowed to enter the United States through a national origins quota. On the
top shelf, you can see many spices which are labeled with various countries and beliefs that play
into American society. The locked cabinets on either side are labeled "Criminals" and "Crooks"
and are locked in an attempt to keep the crooks and criminals out of the US. As we can see, some
still make it through into the melting pot.
