Do you go to church anywhere?

More important than going to church though, if you were to die today are you 100% sure
you’re going to heaven?

Could I take just a couple of minutes and show you how you can know 100% for sure
that you’re going to heaven?

The bible says right here in Rom3:23

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”
So we all have sins? I sin you sin?
And not only that, but the bible says we come short.
So do we measure up to what God demands or expects?
No, we “some short”

Well there’s a punishment for our sins, and the bible says right here in Rom:6:23
“For the wages of sin is death”,
so what’s God’s punishment for our sins?

Right so OK, after we die that’s not the end. After we die the bible talks about what it
calls the second death. I’m going to show you that right here in Rev20:verse14, it says.
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

So according to the bible, after you die there is a second death of going to a place called
hell, and the lake of fire, where you’re basically being punished and tormented or tortured
for your sins, I mean you have to pay the punishment for all your sins.

Verse 15: “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the
lake of fire.”

Then look right over here in verse 8 it says “all liars”, now have you ever told a lie?
Everybody has. Every single person. See what it says, it says “all liars shall have their
part (and it lists all these other sins) but then it says “all liars, shall have their in the lake
which burnest with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Do according to this verse, where do all liars go?

OK but look God loves us right?

If God loves us, do you think He wants us to go to hell? No.

But do think He just said that about hell, and didn’t mean it?
Obviously if it’s in the bible, He meant that. That’s the punishment we all deserve for our
sins. But because God loves us He doesn’t want us to have to pay that punishment.

So here’s what God did for us. Let’s turn to Romans5:8

“But God commendeth his love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us.”

OK so what that’s basically talking about is God himself became a human being,
Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, he never sinned, and you know the
story, they lied about him and arrested him, beat on him, spit on him, and nailed him to
the cross.

Well when he was nailed to the cross the bible says He bare our sins in his own body, and
what that means is that every sin you’ve ever committed in you entire life, every sin I’ve
ever committed, when Jesus was on that cross, it was as if he had done all those sins. And
so he was being punished for murder, for stealing, for lying, for all the sins that you and I
and everyone in the world have committed. He never sinned, but he bore our sins in his
body, and when he died on the cross he was punished for our sins.

They took his body and buried it in a tomb. His soul went down to hell for 3 days and 3
nights, and what happened at the end of those 3 days?

He rose again from the dead. Exactly.

So look do you believe that Jesus died for everybody? Yes, because the bible says that he
died not for our sins only, but for the sins of the whole world.

But do you think everybody is going to heaven though? Probably not right?

So I’m going to show you what the difference is, for obviously everybody is not going to
heaven. What is it that determines who goes and who doesn’t?

It says right here in Acts 16, verse 30 it says, “and brought them out and said Sirs, what
must I do to be saved?” Pretty good question right?

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

Now what does that save you have to do in order to be saved?

(Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ)
Does that say that you have to go to church?
Does it say you have to be baptized?
Does it say you have to give up any of your sins or be willing to give up any sins?
Turn over a new leaf? Be good enough?
What does it say you have to do?
(believe) Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

Now I’m going to show you one of the most famous verses in the whole bible.
John 3:16. The bible says right here,
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him, should not perish, but have eternal life.”
And look at verse 18: “He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotton
Son of God.”

Now look, we’ve just seen these 3 verses, but I could show you dozens, but the point is it
says that everyone who believes on Jesus Christ will be saved. It says right here
“Whosoever believeth” “He that believeth is not condemned” “Believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ and thou shalt be saved”

Now does that say whosoever is good enough?

Whosoever lives a good life?
Whosoever goes to church?
No, it’s whosoever believeth in him.

Now let me show you one more verse, but did you notice how it said “believe ON?”
Believe ON the Lord?

We would normally think we believe IN,

You know, I believe that Jesus is real and that he died on a cross and so forth,
But when you say you believe ON him, it means you’re putting your faith ON him to get
you to heaven. You don’t think you’re going to heaven because of anything you are doing
(because you’re a sinner) you’re putting your faith on HIM to save you. You know,
you’re counting on Him to save you, NOT yourself.

So here’s a verse that kind of ties the whole thing together. And we’ll go back to Romans
3 verse 23 again and finish the verse “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Now is a gift something you have to earn or is it free?

OK, who pays for the gift, the giver or the receiver?
OK, who is giving us eternal life? (God is)
So who has to pay for it?
He already paid for it when he shed his blood on the cross, Jesus Christ paid for our
salvation.

If I were to say ____ I’m going to give you this bible as a gift, but I need you to give me
$5, is that a gift?

OK, what if I were to say I’m going to give it to you for free, but I need you to wash my
car? It’s still not a gift.

If you have to do any work for it, it’s not a gift.

But what if I were to say “I’m giving this to you free, just take it”
Look, who does that bible belong to now? (It’s your now)
Now can I come back any time I want to and take it away from you?
What if I come back to you a few months from now, and you’ve done something wrong
to me, can I just come into your house and take it away?

No. That would make me what?

A thief and a liar.

So the bible says that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his son Jesus Christ.
So he’s not going to try and take it away from you. What I’m saying is that you cannot
lose your salvation. Once you’re saved, it is eternal life.

What does eternal mean? (forever)

So if you get it and it lasts forever, how many times do you think you have to get that?
(One time)

Could you ever lose it?

If I said I’m giving you this bible forever, and then I took it back for any reason, was I
telling you the truth when I said forever?

So if God has given us eternal life, it is going to last forever. Right? You can’t lose it.
Jesus said it this way: “I’ll never leave you nor forsake you”

So no matter if you quit church, and even if you did something awful like kill somebody
or even kill yourself, God will not take away your salvation. look…

You weren’t good enough to get saved any way; we all have sinned and come short.
We’re sinners.

The only way we’re going to heaven is through the blood of Jesus sacrificed for us.
So you can’t be good enough to get saved, and you can’t be good enough to stay saved.
It’s by GRACE through FAITH.

Eternal life is a gift, and as soon as God takes it back he’s a liar. And we know that God
does not lie. Titus 1:2 “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised
before the world began.”

So let me ask you this:

Do you believe you’ve sinned?

Do you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins?
And you believe he rose again from the dead?

OK, now according to what I showed you in the bible right here, if you were to ask him
to save you right now would he do it?
And how long would you be saved for?

What if you do something terrible?

So you said that you believed that if you were ask God right now to save you he would
and you’d be saved forever, I want to help you pray that right now, OK.
I just want to help you tell God that that’s what you believe, so that you’ll know you’re
going to heaven, so we’ll just ask that you be saved right now. OK, let’s bow our heads
right now and you can just repeat after me ok?

So let’s pray this to God, let’s bow our head, and repeat after me believing

“Dear Jesus,

I know I’m a sinner.

I know that I’ve fallen short and deserve to go to hell.
But I believe that you died on the cross for me.
And rose again
So I call upon you now
And ask that you please save me right now
And give me eternal life.
I’m trusting in you alone Jesus for my salvation
And not by anything that I do or have done.
Amen.

All right now you meant that right?

Look, that’s all the bible says you have to do to be saved.

Acts 2:21 “..whosover shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Did you call on the Lord to save you?

According to the bible are you saved?
