The online application are invited from Indian Citizens as per Govt. of India’s Residency Scheme, for the following tenure posts of
Senior Residents in various Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical departments for a maximum period upto 3 years in the prescribed
format. The details are as under :-

The Senior Residents from the Departments of Orthopaedics, Anaesthesiology, General Surgery and General Medicine will be
posted in the Department of Trauma & Emergency Medicine on rotational basis as per the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar Policy.
Candidates may kindly note that :-

 Candidates having MD/DNB in Paediatrics can apply for the post of Senior Residents in the Department of Neonatology,
Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Medical Oncology.

 Candidates having MD/DNB in Medicine can apply for the post of Senior Residents in the Department of Cardiology,
Neurology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Medical Oncology.

 Candidates having MS/DNB in General Surgery can also apply for the post of Senior Residents in the department of
Neurosurgery, Paediatrics Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Urology and Burns & Plastic.

 Candidates having MD in Hospital Administration or Master’s in Hospital Administrations (full time after MBBS) or DNB
in Hospital Administrations can apply for the post of Senior Resident in Hospital Administrations.

Essential Qualification:

I. A Postgraduate Medical degree viz. MD/MS/DM/M.Ch/MHA in their respective disciplines recognised by MCI
/Institute of National Importance.

II. To be Eligible to the Selection for these posts, the candidates should pass the qualifying by 31st July 2018 & result
should be declared to this effect on or before this date. The tenure of qualifying degree should also be completing
latest by 31st July 2018.

III. Only those candidates who have been declared successful in their qualifying degree exam/viva i.e
DNB/MD/MS/MHA (as applicable) and will completing their for the tenure for the same on or before 31st July 2018
will be eligible to the considered for these posts.

IV. In case of those who have appeared for exam. / viva and result is yet to be declared then applicant will be allowed to
appear in theory and / or interview provisionally. In such cases a bonafide certificate duly signed by the Head of the
Institute / Competent authority regarding continuation of the course and probable date of completion of tenure
may be produced / uploaded in the online application.

V. In cases where result of qualifying examination is declared after 31st July 2018, their candidature will stand
cancelled and no claim for selection on the basis of theory examination and interview allowed provisionally will be
considered.

VI. For Senior Resident in Critical Care, the candidate should pass MD in Anaesthesiology with 01(one) year experience
of PDF in Critical Care from recognised University, will be given preference.

Upper Age Limit:

I. For eligibility to apply for these posts, upper age limit will be 37 years. This is relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto a
maximum period of five years, for OBC candidates upto a maximum period of three years. In case of Orthopaedics
Physical Handicapped (OPH) candidates, age relaxation is upto maximum period of 5years for General Category, 8 years
for OBC category and 10 years for SC/ST category candidates. Those who have finished 3 years Residency Scheme are
not eligible.

II. For those applying for these posts after completing DM/M.Ch courses, the upper age limit as on last date of receipt of
application will be 35 years. The age limit is further relaxable for SC/ST candidates, OBC candidates & OPH candidates
will be as above.

Mode of Selection:

I. Written examination, will only be conducted when number of applications are more than three times than the number of
posts. However, there will be no written test for that post against which less number of applications are received than
the vacancies. Director, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar will have discretion to decide for which post written examination to be
conducted and for which post there will be no written examination. The decision thereof will be final.

II. Candidates working in Govt. / Semi-Govt., PSU should apply through proper channel only. The in-services
candidates will not be permitted for examination / interview, without “No Objection Certificate” from the
employer. In this connection, it is mentioned that as per the terms and conditions of Central Residency Scheme
that their engagement is to be regulated as per the CCS (Temporary Service Rules). As per rule 1(3) of the CCS
(TSR) that these rules shall apply to all persons who hold a Civil Post including all civilians paid from defence
service estimate under the Govt. of India, and who are under the rule making control of President, but who don’t
hold a lien or suspended lien on any post under the Govt. of India or State Govt.

III. Candidates are advised to visit our website regularly to get various updates about the selection process from time to
time.

IV. All candidates completing their qualifying eligibility criteria by July session shall be eligible.

V. Depending on requirement, the Authorities may increase/ decrease the number of posts.

Application Procedure:

I. The online application will be available w.e.f. 07th May 2018 on our website www.aiimsbhubaneswar.edu.in.
Candidates who are fulfilling the eligibility criteria may apply through online as per the prescribed format as available
through online mode. Candidates who are working in Government organisation have to intimate their employer about
their submission application. However, they will submit NOC at the time of Personal Interview Test.

II. Director AIIMS, Bhubaneswar reserves the right to cancel the advertisement at any point of time without assigning any
reason thereof or fill up less/more number of posts as advertised depending upon the Institutional requirement.

III. The original certificate i.e MBBS degree certificate, Internship Completion Certificate, Qualifying degree
(MBBS/MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch/MHA) Medical registration Certificate, Date of Birth Certificate, Caste Certificate etc. of
the candidates who opt/select for the post of Senior Residents will be verified. If any candidates, who joins the post and
leave/resign/terminate before the completion of the tenure, he/she may do so by giving one month’s prior notice as per
the rules or by depositing pay and allowance in lieu thereof with the Institute for the period of which notice fall short of
one month or so.

Selection Procedure:

I. The candidate can apply for more than one post out of the enlisted Departments separately.

II. The written examination of 80 marks will be based on the MCQ in the subject concerned and 20 marks for personal
interview will be conducted at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. The date of written examination and personal interview will be
uploaded in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar website (www.aiimsbhubaneswar.edu.in).

III. Candidates will be sent intimation about the written examination and/or personal interview through the Institute
website.

IV. The merit list (selected and waiting list) for all categories i.e UR/OBC/SC/ST shall be prepared on the basis of combined
marks of written test and personal interview or only Personal Interview.

V. Any vacancy arising because of non-joining by selected candidates in this selection or by resignation of candidates, post
will be offered to the candidates from waiting list according to the merit panel. All applicants must provide mobile
numbers and e-mail for timely communication.

VI. For qualification /Reservation /Selection Procedure/Emolument/dates for Interview/counselling and other details,

VII. Qualification/Experience /Age/etc. will be counted as on last date of the application.

The Term and Conditions:

 Director, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar reserves the right to cancel the advertisement at any point of time without prior notice or
fill up less number of posts as advertised depending upon the institutional requirement.

 If any candidate who joins the post and leaves/ resigns before the completion of the tenure, he/she may do so by
giving one month notice as per rules or by depositing pay and allowances with the Institute in lieu thereof for
the period of which notice falls short of one month.

 The Competent Authority reserves the right to change the number of vacancies, withdraw the process in full or in part
and also the right to reject any or all applications received without assigning any reasons or giving notice etc.,

 This appointment is whole time and private practice of any kind is prohibited.

 He/she will have to work in shifts and can be posted at any place in the Institute.

 He/she should also note that he/she will have to conform to the rules of discipline and conduct as applicable to the
Institute employees.

 No travelling or other allowances will be paid to the candidate for attending the Interview and joining the post.

 The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.

 Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified for the post.

 If any declaration given or information furnished by the candidate proves to be false or if the candidate is found to have
wilfully suppressed any material information, he/she will be liable to be removed from services and such action as the
appointing authority may deem fit.

 The decision of the Competent Authority regarding selection of the candidate will be final and no representations will be
entertained in this regard. The decision of the selection committee shall be final and binding.

POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP (PDF)

Admission to the post of Fellowship (PDF) in Critical Care Medicine with the Department of Anaesthesiology and Palliative
Care Medicine with the Department of Radiotherapy for a maximum tenure period of 01(one) year at the AIIMS,
Bhubaneswar for the Academic Session 2018-19.

Online applications with complete bio-data in the prescribed format, as available on the website –
https://www.aiimsbhubaneswar.edu.in are invited from Indian Citizens for the admission to the Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF)
in Critical Care Medicine with the Department of Anaesthesiology and Palliative Care Medicine with the Department of
Radiotherapy for a maximum tenure period of one year at the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for the Academic session 2018-19. Candidates
who are fulfilling all eligibility criteria as mentioned below may apply through online as per the prescribed format as available through
online mode. Candidates who are working in government agency may intimate to their employer about their submission of application.

Selection procedure:
1. A written Examination based on MCQs in Critical Care / Palliative Medicine (total marks 80) will be conducted if more
than 5 candidates. The exact date, time and place will be intimated in due course of time through admit card.

2. Candidates who get 50% marks or more in the written examination will be eligible for consideration for the Interview.
The total number of candidates called for the interview will be maximum of three times the number of seats available in
the respective category including general.

3. The result of the written examination will be displayed on the notice board of the Examination Section at AIIMS and the
Interview will be held on date announced on website. Candidates will be sent intimation about the written examination
and/or personal interview through email/post and the same is required to be produce at the time of examination.

4. The Interview will carry 20 marks to be based on Clinical evaluation/Laboratory testing. There is no cut off mark for the
interview.

5. The merit list(s) for SC/ST/OBC/Gen shall be prepared on the basis of combined marks of written test and interview.

6. After filling of available posts all remaining candidates shall be kept in the waiting list that is valid till 31st October
2018. They must leave two phone numbers and email / fax no. with Academic Section for faster communication.

7. If insufficient number of candidates are eligible, then the written examination may not be held as per institute guidelines
- selection will be based on interview.

8. Prior experience (research or clinical) in Critical Care Medicine or Palliative care as applicable will be given preference
in selection process of upto 5 marks as decided by the committee.

9. Selected Candidate will be expected to stay in Institute Campus if offered residential accommodation.

10. In case of exceptional candidates the discretion of authorities to relax requisite eligibility criteria like age, experience etc.
shall be final.

PAY SCALES

I. Reservation has been provided in the above post in accordance with the rules.

II. Reservation for Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped candidates is 5% along with backlog post will be provided on
horizontal basis to OPH candidate in their respective categories.

Candidates applying in OBC/SC/ST category should possess the caste certificate issued by competent authority, valid for
administration / Job in Central Govt. Institutions issued before the date of interview, failing which he/she shall not be
allowed to appear in the interview for the same category. However, he/she can be treated as UR candidate, if in merit
through written examination, subject to verification by Examination Recruitment cell.
