Overview of the lesson:

Fatima had a lesson about Letter D. Specifically, she discussed how to write and read the letter.
Moreover, she introduced few basic words that start with letter D.

Strengths:

- Good tone of voice. Although, there is a need to improve on the intonation.

- Commendable story about the Doughnut. This story introduced few more words that start with
letter D.

- Have submitted the lesson plan and reflection on time. This showed that she had planned ahead
and is practicing being a reflective teacher.
Areas for development:
- Include in your lesson plan the possible higher order thinking skills (HOTS) questions that you might
ask to the students as they do the activity. This can be an affective formative assessment tool.

- Move around the class. This will give you assurance that students are really paying attention and
listening to you. (during story telling)

- Instead of just doing a mere-plain telling of story, you can put a twist by providing the students an
opportunity to guess the next scene base from how they understood the story. This will develop their
critical thinking.

- Make sure to provide appropriate intonation, emotions and pause/timing while telling a story. This
will bring out students’ interest to listen.

- Reinforce collaborating. You could have done THINK-PAIR-SHARE first before calling students at
random. This will provide opportunity for the students to share their ideas, opinions, points-of-views
on a certain question/thing.

- Provide activities that promote collaboration (grouping).

- Give ample amount of attention on your student of determination. Provide also in your LP concrete
things that you will do to address the needs of the said pupil.

- Add more student-centered and differentiated activities. It was very evident that some of the
students who were done with the work started to get bored and make noise.

- Ask HOTS questions as you roam around and check students doing the activities.

- Plan ahead of time in terms of how you will arrange the students to avoid spending a lot of time
settling them down.

Focus for next lesson:

- Please be guided accordingly from the above-mentioned areas for development.
