CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience? This field experience proved to be very
challenging and rewarding. In order to give the teachers choice and voice with the professional
development” Innovation Station: Sparking the 4C’s” each grade level had different content and
tools presented. The teachers were given a needs assessment form in which they chose the session
topic and tools. I learned the importance of aligning content and Georgia Standards with the
materials and tools presented during the session. Most importantly, a session facilitator must be
flexible and know the participants needs and wants before delivering content.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Knowledge-In order to provide a purposeful and engaging professional learning session coaches
must have adequate knowledge of teachers learning styles, content needs, and student populations.
When designing the professional development, it was very important to understand the teachers
wants and need to better support their classroom initiatives.

Skills-The workshop included task for different skills levels. Learner centered activities were
chosen for the different ability levels. During the exploration time of the workshops participants
were allowed time to explore and ask questions, which address the diverse learning styles and
needs.

Disposition- In order for the professional development to be successful my level of knowledge,

enthusiasm, and creativity were very important. Making the session engaging and interactive was
key for many of the teachers. Many of the teachers enjoy exploring, playing, and creating
examples of the different tech tools. It also important to be understanding of teacher’s time and
attention during the sessions. Many of the teaches may not be in attendance by choice. Therefore,
it very important to positive and understanding of the teacher’s feelings.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? This technology workshop
was attended by all teachers in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The teachers have several
apps or tech tools that they can teach to their students to communicate, create, or think critically.
My hope is that the teachers will take some time to teach the students one tool learned during the
professional development. Teacher impact can be measured by analyzing the evaluation form.
Student impact can be evaluated by viewing student technology creations during the schools
Student Exhibit Night.
