Technical Description
The HLR, SAE-HSS, and IMS-HSS support global tracing in the CS, EPS, and IMS domains,
respectively. The HLR, SAE-HSS, or IMS-HSS instructs the NE serving the subscribers to trace their
service messages.
In the CS domain, the MSC/VLR records subscriber activities such as location updates, MS power-on/off,
and call and SMS origination/termination in a tracing file, and then stores it on the host.

Note:
- The SAE-HSS uses the subscriber's IMSI to query the local database for the MME/S4-SGSN serving
the subscriber. If the SAE-HSS finds the serving MME/S4-SGSN, it performs step 3.a. Otherwise, the
process does steps 3.b(1) to 3.b(4) .
- Dotted lines indicate optional procedures.
