Blended Learning Lesson Plan

Lesson Title: Moves, Concept, and Principles.

Objectives: Students will break into three groups and work on movements, concepts, and
principles.
 Movement group will work on find activities that give the most movement.
 Concepts
 Principles
State Standards: HS-2.2 Use movement, concepts, and principles (for example, force,
motion, and rotation) to analyze and improve performance of self and/or others).

Context: In the last standard the students worked on put terminology to exercise and
participation in individual, an or duel or team sports. The students will be able to recall
what they did in the last standard. The knowledge that the students will bring to this class
are standards 1.1, 1.2, 2.1. After this lesson the students will move into standard 2.3, and
2.4 are the next two standards the students will learn from this unit. What I will be
teaching the students to prepare them for the how properly analyze each other, and help
each other improve.

Materials:
 Pencils and notebooks- to write and take notes on material found for this lesson.
 iPod and tablets- these will be used to analyze another student’s movement and
positioning.
 Slow motion camera app- https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/slow-motion-cam-video-
editor/id979234250?mt=8
 Video clip on movement concept- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtTW_6vtd8o
 Worksheet- collaborative group will work on a work sheet made to talk about principals
in PE.

Procedures:
Introduction (10 minutes): I will start class by introducing the class to what we will
learning today. Then I will break the class into three different groups. The first group will work
with me on the concepts with a video and look at and talk about it. Second group will work on
finding the principals in their group. The third group will use the slow mo. app and tablets to
record and analyze their different movements. Then we will rotate the groups every 10 minutes.

Teacher Directed (10 minutes): In this group the students will work with me. We will
watch a video on the concepts of PE. Then we will discuss what we learn from this video. Next,
I’ll ask the students questions about the video and what they learned. Then we will talk about
what they will do in the next group and rotate.
Collaborative (10 minutes): In this collaborative group, students will work together and
find the principals of PE. They will use iPads or tablets to find the different principals. They will
then collaborate in a group about what they found similar and different. Then they will rotate
into the next group.

Independent Digital (15 minutes): In this group students will work with iPads and tablets.
They will use them to record each other and use the slow-motion app to analyze their form of
movement and function. Next, they will talk about how they can work to improve it. Then the
group will rotate into their next group.

Closure (5 minutes): To close this activity we will meet back together. We will talk
briefly about what we learn. Then we will talk about any problems they had and what they liked
about it. Then talk about what we will do next time and dismiss the class.

Rationale:
(Multimedia 1= video of movement concept): The reason this piece of multimedia it
incorporates video and example in it. This is a good quality video and will help students
very well in their learning. It meets a good amount of the multimedia bullet points.

(Multimedia 2= Slow motion camera): The reason this is a piece of multimedia, is how
students can use it to analyze each other. It also helps the students to determined what a
movement is. This is a very good quality app. This app meets all 8 of the multimedia
bullet points.
