Grade: 10 Unit/Theme: Teaching Games for Understanding Generic Level: Control

Equipment:
● Pre-test
● Racquetballs (10)
● Tennis balls (10)
● Pencils (20)

Focus of Lesson: Wall Ball / Hand ball

Student Performance Objectives (SPO):

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

(P) Strikes the ball to the wall with an open hand at least 3 times in a row (S1.H1.L1)

(C) Write down the definition of teaching games for understanding in his/her own words
(S2.H1.L1)

(A) Keeps everyone involved in the game despite differences in skill level. (S4.H3.L1)

Teacher Performance Objectives – During the lesson the teacher will:

1. Roam from group to group, giving specific positive and corrective feedback
2. Give a broad overview of the unit in order to help the students wrap their minds around
what will be expected and how each day will look
3. Be enthusiastic about wall ball….stress that it is a sport that people of all levels can play
Special Considerations:

● Safety: Students have been in the classroom for 6 weeks so safety needs to be
addressed, especially potential of students getting hit in the eye with the ball
