Lesson 34: This is my house

There is – there are

Objetivo: Refuerzo There is – there are

Refuerzo expresiones“there is” – “There are”

 There is a small and soft bed in my bedroom.

 There are three yellow pillows on my bed.
 There isn’t an air conditioner in my bedroom.
 There was a big tree in the middle of the garden.
 There were three pets: a cat, a dog, and a parrot.
 There weren’t any roses in the garden of my old house.
 There aren’t any red lamps in my bedroom.
Refuerzo - “Any”

 There isn’t any plasma television in my house.

 There aren’t any purple chairs in my living room.

 There wasn’t any big tables in the kitchen of my grandmother’s house.

 There isn’t any water in the fridge. (‘water’ is uncountable)

 There isn’t any bread on the dining room table. (‘bread’ is uncountable)

 There aren’t any onions for the salad. (“onion” is countable)

Uso de “some”
algunas, algo de; empleamos ‘some’.

 There are some pictures in my living room.

 There are some flowers in my garden.
 There is some pear juice in the fridge.(uncountable)
 There were some mango trees in the garden of my uncle’s country house.

 Is there any milk in the fridge? = Is there some milk in the fridge?
 Are there any apples on the table? = Are there some apples on the table?
 Are there any children in your house? = Are there some children in your new house?
