Swedish bestseller THE LIVING AND THE DEAD IN WINSFORD by Håkan Nesser
optioned for film/tv by Desmar and Artina Films

Desmar, a London based production and finance company, has teamed with
Artina Films, an independent film and television production company based in
Los Angeles, to option Håkan Nesser’s Rosenkrantz Award-winning novel, THE
LIVING AND THE DEAD IN WINSFORD for film/tv.

Michele Marshall and Naomi Despres will produce and production will take
place in the UK and Sweden.

Set in Sweden and on Exmoor in England, THE LIVING AND THE DEAD IN
WINSFORD is a stand-alone psychological novel about betrayal and revenge
first published in Sweden in 2013 by Albert Bonniers Förlag, where it quickly
became a bestseller, and in English in 2015 (Mantle/Pan Macmillan).

Håkan Nesser is also author of the forthcoming novel INTRIGO, which has been
adapted into three English languages films featuring Ben Kingsley, directed by
‘Millenium’ director, Daniel Alfredson – already in post-production and slated
for release in fall 2018.

Nesser’s books have sold over 20 million copies worldwide and are translated
into more than 30 languages.
