structure, or conduct the others steps necessary.

6.12. Examination Of Existing Concrete Specimen From The Hardened Concrete

Works

In terms of the quality of concrete works deemed suspicious by the

Owner/Supervisor, where the results of the test of concrete cubes as required in
Article 3.33 (cube testing procedure) has not been satisfactorily obtained as of
article 3.34 (results of testing concrete cubes) and then when the concrete casting
has not been completed, the foundry must discontinued immediately and in a short
time nondestructive trial should be held on the constitutional part where the
concrete with a dubious strength located, to examine the actual strength of the
concrete.

The Supervisory Board of Directors may order the quality testing with concrete
hammer or drill core specimen (core drilled) cylindrical with a nominal diameter of
150 mm and a height of 300 mm is recommended be taken (drilled) from the
dubious concrete construction. The method of collecting and testing of drill core
specimens were based on ASTM C42 "Method of Obtaining and Testing drilled
Cores and Sawed Beams of Concrete".

In this case should be taken a minimum of three (3) pieces of drill core specimens
on the construction with a dubious quality. The hammer test equipment and
concrete cutter and a work method have to be provided by the Contractor, in order
that the Board of Directors able to Monitor and Control before the testing, all the
equipment and necessary testing should follow the rules stated in PBI 1971 NI-2,
ASTM C42 or other relevant standards.

If during the service period the concrete in these structures will always be dry, then
the core specimen that obtained must be dried aired (temperature between 15 ° C
to 30 ° C, relative humidity less than 60%) for 7 (seven) days before the
compressive test starting and must be tested in the dry state. When during the
service life of the concrete turn out found more than just the wet surface, the drill
core specimens must be soaked in water for at least 40 hours and then tested in
the wet state.

The Concrete, represented by drill core test results should be considered to be

structurally sufficient if the average compressive strength of the three specimens of
the drill core at least equal to 85% of f'c (cylinder compressive strength) as required
in article 2.27 and none of the drill core specimens have a compressive strength of
less than 75% f'c. To check the accuracy of the test results of the drill core, which is
represented by the location of the compressive strength of drill core specimens
were erratic should be retested.

When the power cylinder specimen taken from the concrete work that has been
hardened is less than the strength of concrete minimum required by PBI 1971 NI-2
section 4.8, or if in the opinion of the Supervision Board, the concrete fails to meet
the requirements specified so that the concrete specimen did not meet the
specifications, thus it can be ordered to the Contractor, the trials for direct loading

concrete, mold reinforcement, the principle of straightness and so on, should be
checked thoroughly, the room where the concrete will be cast should be passed a
thorough cleansing. The holes between the connection, or ate the corner angle of
the mold should be closed by the materials approved by the Supervisory Board.

The inside of the mold must be coated with a material that is approved to avoid
concrete sticking to the mold wall and maintained so that the coating material does
not stick to the steel reinforcement. Anyway where it is necessary to prevent the
water absorption from the concrete, the mold must be soaked entirely before
concreting work starts and the excessive water inside of the mold must be
removed. Another thing beyond the provisions above shall follow the rules stated in
the NI 1971 PBI-2 Chapter 5.

6.21. Start Of Concreting Works

Concreting works can be started after the preparation and obtained permission for
the approval by the Owner/Supervisor. The Notice that quite clear to the Board of
Supervisors, that a portion of the job area has already available for casting, thus
Controller may be present and conduct testing, checking, researching and so on.

No later than 12 hours after approval by the Owner/Supervisor concreting work

must begin soon in order to avoid the occurrence of rust on the reinforcement. If the
reinforcement had corroded prior to casting, it must first be cleaned of rust with
sand blasting systems. Casting should only be done if the Supervisory Board of
Directors or its designated agency exist in the workplace.

6.22. Concrete Transportation

Immediately, when there are no longer requirements have to be fulfilled, then at

least 2 hours after the start of mixing/stirring, the concrete must be poured from the
mixer to the place of work with a tool that can protect from the effects of
contamination, segregation or loss of the main ingredients of the concrete. The use
of pumps for concrete casting works can only be permitted by the
Owner/Supervisor.

Any changes (modifications) that may be made to the ratio of the ingredients of
concrete to be used in the casting works with the pump must be approved by the
Supervisory Board of Directors and on the

Contractor's expense. In cases where it related to the cement-water factor required

for a grade and quality of the concrete so that in this case the concrete is not
allowed to be pumped, the concrete must be transported by watertight equipment,
type and size approved by the Owner/Supervisor. Another terms beyond the
provisions above shall follow the rules stated in the NI 1971 PBI-2 Chapter 6.

6.23. Concrete Casting Process

All concrete must be poured in accordance with the position and the sequence
shown in the drawings, specifications or indicated by the Owner/Supervisor with a
tool that can prevent contamination, segregation or loss of the main ingredients of
the concrete. Concrete should be poured as close as possible to the position in the
mold and be leveled horizontally and compacted on the thickness (height) between
150 s / d 300 mm. Deployment and smoothing the concrete into the mold is very
necessary and crucial, and this has to be done with a device that is approved and
must be assisted by a vibrator (Mechanical Vibrator). The Pouring of the concrete
into the mold should not exceed a height of 1.0 m. Design and slope of the pouring
funnel used in concrete casting must be approved by the Supervisory Board of
Directors.

If the concrete is poured by using a pump, then the cost is borne by the contractor,
the Contractor must set the pace pouring concrete accordingly to prevent the
segregation or damage and disruption to the reinforcing steel, mold and so on.
Unless required, there should be no tilt related to pouring concrete process.
Termination of casting must be planned and must receive the approval by the
Board of Supervisors. Place and form of a casting dismissal must follow the
provisions of NI 1971 PBI - 2 Chapter 6.5 or SNI 03-2847-2002.

All the base casting concrete of the constructions which is touching the ground,
should be given the basis of a concrete floor without reinforcement, with a mixture
composition 1pc. 3PS. 5 KR minimum thickness of 5 cm, to guarantee a good seat
position of the reinforcement with no cement-water absorption into the soil. During

the rain which could affect the concrete mix, the casting should be dismissed or if
the Contractor has provided a specials tools or special protection that allows
foundry works not interrupted by rain. All procedures and arrangements should be
consulted prior to the Owner/Supervisor for their approval.

During the casting of concrete in order not to disturb the position of reinforcement,
the reinforcement steel mounting technician must always be on the work area or
successively present in the concrete casting activity area to correct the position of
the reinforcing steel.

Time Schedule for concrete casting works must be arranged accordingly, so there
is no concrete surfaces that idle more than 30 minutes before the next concrete
casting. Meal breaks, the replacement group (shifting group) and so forth, as well
as the dismissal of the casting position, should be governed simultaneously,
carefully and extra cautious to ensure that the above interval will not interfere the
quality of implementation and the work process. Another terms and points beyond
the provisions above shall follow the rules stated in the NI 1971 PBI-2 Chapter 6 or
SNI 03-2847-2002.

6.24. The Importance Of Compaction

The surfaced of Concrete must always be solidified and improved especially for the
parts of the joints and connections. It is important to condense the whole of
concrete and assure the homogeneity condition and free of porosity, in addition, the
surface of the joints must be connected with a new concrete pouring immediately.

Compaction is not limited to the upper surface of the layers of casting, but it must
be conducted on a whole part, so that all the concrete become solid, it appears
resembling the surface of the jelly. Other terms and points beyond the provisions
above to follow the rules stated in PBI-1972 NI-2 Chapter 6.

6.25. Concrete Vibration Process

All concrete must go through the period of vibration, unless there are otherwise
requirements or other command, the vibration process is a demand of the
Supervisory Board in addition to the compaction of the concrete, so it was not as a
substitute for compaction which is mentioned in another article. All the vibration
works must be carried out based on the plans approved by the Owner/Supervisor.

prior to the execution time, and how to use the equipment. Vibrator (immersion
vibrator) used must have a minimum frequency of 8000 cycles / min and should
refer to the patterns and arrangements that have been approved. Implementation
must be careful to avoid segregation and excessive vibration. Other things outside
the provisions above to follow the rules stated in the NI 1971 PBI-2 Chapter 6.

6.26. Casting Works At The Tidal Period

All the concrete casting between the tidal surface the must be carried out in the dry
state. In case of casting in construction joints, protective / closure must be taken,
after which the connection should be cleaned and made it harsh, and given a
bonding agent as required and concrete casting process continued at low tide. All
reinforcement, the mold and the joint surface must be clean as required and a
whole new cast concrete must be compacted. The maximum favorable opportunity
should be taken from the lowest low tide (neap tide), to avoid casting at a high tide.

6.27. Alignment Of The Surface And Finishing

All the surface of the concrete slab or other parts that are not to be covered must
be leveled in a manner approved by the Board of Directors of Trustees until the
surface is flat and packed with the equipment such as the grading tool from the
steel. Implementation must be careful to ensure that the concrete is really evenly
and densely. Basically the finishing for concrete surfaces that will receive the
additional concrete pouring over it (concrete topping) should be roughened in the
manner shown in FIG. However, for the open concrete surface (exposed), finishing
process that required is the smooth finishing smooth or otherwise specified by the
Owner/Supervisor.

6.28. Construction Joint Position

The Construction Joint must be stated in pictures or as approved by the

Owner/Supervisor. All the concrete work on construction joints should be
continuously / constantly. On the visible surface, Construction Joint should be
carefully molded to obtain a neat straight line or where it shown in the picture,
should be formed with a special form between the concrete surfaces prior to
casting process and the next casting concrete layer. In order the join of two

new concrete surface should be prepared as good as possible, or by adding the
bonding agent in accordance with the requirements, if necessary.

The construction Join must be created and placed in accordingly in a way that does
not reduce the strength and durability of construction, and is able to pass on the
slide force and other forces. The mortar (cement grout) that shaped as a slit with a
width of 25 mm and a height of 40 mm should be provided at all of a flat
Construction join where a special form above is not required.

The suitable adhesives materials should be given at the end or the other surfaces
of the parts that exceed 200 mm thick for the purpose of locking the parts of the
connection. The adhesive material should be applied on the entire surface of the
joint and should be sloped laterally as in the picture detail. Another terms that is not
included in the provisions above, follow the rules stated in SNI 03-2847-2002.

6.29. Construction Join Procedure

In the flat construction join, cleaning the former layer of mold and the stones
protrusions on the surface should be implemented, practically by washing and
brushing after the casting works, must be carried out carefully so that the mixture is
not eroded. After the cleaning phase, excess water should be removed in order not
to be absorbed by the cement.

In this case, where the concrete begins the binding process, but have not yet
started to harden, the cleanup of the former layer of mold and coarsening the
surface of the concrete connection must be performed with a wire brush and then
wash it thoroughly, in order not to damage the layer below. Either on a vertical or
horizontal connection, where the concrete has started to harden each layer of the
skin or the former mold should be cleaned and coarsening the surface using a
hammer with a certain strength and continued with a wire brush to clean all of the
particles.

If using these procedures, the implementation phase must be extremely careful to

avoid the cracks around the connection surface and protruding rocks. Any method
used for cleaning the surfaces which visible, the foreign materials must be purged

The number, size, shape and position of all reinforcement should refer to the shop
drawings, unless otherwise instructions given by the Owner/Supervisor .

Steel rods usually have to meet the specified length; the main steel welding rod is not
permitted unless otherwise indicated in the picture. The horizontal distance between
the rods combined is no less than. which of this following is the greatest.

- Diameter of reinforcement rods when it has the same diameter.

- Diameter of the bigger reinforcement rods, if the diameter is not the same.

- The maximum nominal size of coarse aggregate used for concrete.

Where required with steel fiber reinforcement (steel fabric reinforcement), the sheet
must be connected at least two eyes wide webbing, and combined fibers. Reinforcing
steel must be woven accordingly, in order to form such a cage.

Contractors must pay attention, that the reinforcement is placed correctly in every
aspect and condition, and hanged or supported by the approved artificial tools in the
mold to hold the movement before and during the concreting process; the use of
pieces of steel or wood for that purpose, under or beside of the mold is not allowed.

Location of stirrups and the distance to the main reinforcement should be carefully
guarded, they hold or prop the reinforcement. Reinforcement must be maintained
remain in the same and correct place, and not to get out of the concrete surface, and
the distance required for the reinforcement of the concrete surface, as shown in the
figure must be met. All the reinforcement stems should be tied with reinforcement wire
accordingly, so that the ends of the wire must be bent inward to keep it inside of the
concrete surface or embedded inside of the slab / concrete covers.

The concrete decking of a certain size consisting of a mixture of 1 PC. 2 sand used for
the separation between the reinforcement and the sides and bottom part of the mold so
that the required concrete cover maintained its distance from the surface of the
concrete. Other ingredients for the concrete decking is not permitted. Especially for
construction near the sea water, nylon rope used for fastener the concrete decking.

It should be noted and strive to avoid any shifting or curvature of the reinforcement
which is placed before concreting works. All reinforcement should be cleaned by sand
