The lesson will be a review so, there is no standard for it.

- Students will be able to review the two lessons (adding and subtracting fraction number).

different.
Students’ Prior Knowledge:
- Some students may remember how to simplify the fraction to a simplest form.
Possible Problems:
- Some students may take long time to answer the worksheet (assessment part).
Solutions for the Possible Problems:
- The teacher will remind the students for the time and she will ask them to complete the rest in the home.
Misconceptions:
- Some students may forget the steps of adding and subtracting the fraction numbers.
Solutions for Misconceptions:
- The teacher will write one example in the board at the beginning of the class and they will solve the
problem together.
Lesson Schedule
Targeted teacher questions to promote HOTS:
Review, fraction, decimal fraction, how to convert this number, what we can notice in this
fraction, 5 min to finish, clean your deck.

Decimal fraction, decimal point, fraction line, part of ten, part of hundred, nominator,
dominator.
Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): Time

At the beginning, the teacher will welcome the students for the class and she will tell them that she
will use the same strategy which is the football flags. She will give each group flag football team. She
will ask them to remember the rules that she follow in her class (raise your hand, be quite and help
your classmates).
After that, she will tell them that because they have an exam next day, she will make a review for the
last two lessons they took. Which are (adding and subtracting fraction number and simplify it).

The teacher will write in the board one example for the adding fraction ( + ) She will tell

the students that in the adding and subtracting the fractions the (dominator will be the same in the 10 Min
answer, we don’t add the dominator). First of all, she will ask the students to add the nominator
together (50+32) The answer will be (72) and the dominator will not change (100) so the answer will

Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):
The teacher will divide the board into four parts and she will stick in each part groups name. She will
give each group an envelope that include four questions cards. She will say that they have to answer
all the questions and each time they finish one question they have to go and stick it in their corner.
She will give them 10 minutes to finish the activity. However, the teacher will tell them that the group
who will finish first will get one ball sticker in their flags. When all the groups finish, the teacher will
check their answers visually and she will correct their answers if there is any mistake. 15 min

After that the teacher will ask the students to open their textbook on page (745) and answer the
questions. She will give them 5 min to finish it. The teacher will tell the learners to come to her table
to correct their answers and check their understanding. 5 min

The next activity will be in small board. The teacher will give each group a small board and she will 25 Min
say ( I will act like I am in the super market, you have to listen to the food price and add the types of
the food that I will buy, for example, I want to buy tomatoes that cost 1.43 and banana that cost 5.90.
so, you have to add the two prices and write the total in the small board. After that you will rise the
board up, so I can see your answers and check if it right or not (see the attachment for the list of the
food price). This activity will take 5 min.
Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment):

The teacher will give the students 2 small worksheets about the lesson and she will give them 5 min
to finish it (see the attachment). The students who finish should stand in front of the teacher’s table, 10 Min
so she can correct their answers. At the end the teacher will ask the students to clean their desks and
make a line in front of the door and go straight to their class.
