1. Manfaat Mata Kuliah

This subject will help students to understand and apply statistics in business. Thus, students
generally will be able to use a proper method of statistics to model and forecast for
developing business. At end of this subject, students can analyze and solve problems in
business.

2. Deksripsi Mata Kuliah

This subject will introduce students to the quantitative tools that are necessary for day-to-
day business needs knowledge of statistics in business, including descriptive statistics which
summarize data from a sample using indexes such as the mean or standard deviation, and
inferential statistics which use a random sample of data taken from a population to describe
and make inferences about the population. Inferential statistics are valuable when
examination of each member of an entire population is not convenient or possible.

3. Capaian Pembelajaran
Students who successfully complete this subject should be able to:
1. Select appropriate statistical techniques for summarizing and displaying business data.
2. Analyze and draw inferences from business data using appropriate statistical methods.
3. Interpret and communicate the results of a statistical analysis in the context of a
business problem.
4. Strategi Pembelajaran
Learning strategy of this subject will be conducted through lecture, discussion, assignments
and quiz. Topics and main reference will be informed at the beginning of term.

5. Materi Pokok
The concept and mission of statistics: the place and role of statistical methods in business
phenomena, statistical collection, types of characteristics. Basic methods of data analysis:
formation of statistical series, their tabular and graphical presentation, the underlying
characteristics of numerical sequences, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion
and variability. The concept and method of sampling tasks: sample types, examples of
applications in product quality testing, receipt of goods, market research, etc. Basic time

series analysis: a graphical display and comparison, the numerical analysis of time series,
individual and group indices, deflation, trend.

7. Kriteria Penilaian
Business statistics consist of 3 (three) SKS. Assessment and Evaluation Standard will be
conducted based on daily assessment: exercises, individual assignments, quiz and attitude
(attendance and discipline). Exam includes: written exam (Mid-semester Exam and Final
Exam). Assessment standard:
1. Mid Semester (NM) = 35 %
2. Final Semester (NA) = 35 %
= 70 %
3. Task Assignment (T) = 10 %
4. Daily Assessments (HBH) = 20 %
= 30 %

NAS = ((NM + NA) * 70%) + ((T+HBH) * 30 %)

berdasarkan Peraturan Akademik Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis Tahun 2017, Pasal 32

8. Tata Tertib Mahasiswa dan Dosen

Tata tertib perkuliahan mengacu pada Peraturan Akademik Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis
Tahun 2017 BAB VI Tata Tertib Pasal 22 -26 dan dengan tambahan sebagai berikut:
1. Toleransi keterlambatan masuk kelas maksimum 10 menit dari yang dijadwalkan.
2. Toleransi pengumpulan tugas/PR maksimal 7 hari setelah penugasan.
3. Tidak ada ujian susulan untuk UTS dan UAS, kecuali bagi Mahasiswa yang mendapat
kecelakaan atau disebabkan keperluan penting yang amat mendesak sehubungan dengan
kegiatan kampus.
4. Hasil Evaluasi Ujian Mahasiswa (UTS dan UAS) wajib sudah diketahui nilainya oleh
mahasiswa paling lama 2 (dua) minggu setelah naskah ujian (UTS dan UAS) diterima
oleh Dosen ybs.
5. Protes nilai dilayani paling lama 1 (satu) minggu setelah nilai keluar/telah diumumkan.
6. Konsultasi terkait perkuliahan dapat dilakukan selama jam kerja, yaitu:
Senin – kamis : 08.00 – 16.30 WIB
Jumat : 08.00 – 17.00 WIB

hal-hal tersebut dapat dibicarakan secara teknis pada setiap pertemuan perkuliahan. Apabila
ada perubahan pada item isi kontrak perkuliahan, hal tersebut akan ada pemberitahuan
terlebih dahulu oleh Dosen Pengampu Mata Kuliah.

Untuk pelaksanaan kontrak perkuliahan ini dapat ditetapkan terhitung mulai dari
