Step by Step Installation Basic

 Step 1 : Configuring the TCP/IP management of the HG.

 Step 2 : Installing the SIM cards and connecting antennas.

 Step 3 : Configuring the Hypermedia components as required by


the client.

 Step 4 : Testing and monitoring.

Step 1 : Configuring the TCP/IP management Basic
of the HG.

For Hypermedia Systems that


doesn’t include VOIP

Step 1 : HBX cards without VOIP Basic

 Install the Hypermedia Software ( Included in disk )


 Connect your PC/Laptop with a straight Ethernet cable to the MAIN ETH port at the HBX
card. ( Ping the HG default IP , 192.168.9.2 , to test the connection)
 Your PC/Laptop must have IP configured:
IP : 192.168.9.5
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
 Open the Server list application and add 192.168.9.2 as a server ( default password is
admin )
 Use the HGS setup parameters application ( First one from left )
 Login with password admin
 Change IP with the desired IP of the Client’s subnet.
 Connect the MAIN ETH port to the clients network.

Step 1 : PC cards without VOIP Basic

 Install the Hypermedia Software ( Included in disk )


 Connect your PC/Laptop with a straight Ethernet cable to the LAN1 port at the PC1 card. (
Ping the HG default IP , 192.168.0.2 , to test the connection)
 Your PC/Laptop must have IP configured:
IP : 192.168.0.5
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
 Open the Server list application and add 192.168.0.2 as a server ( default password is
admin )
 Use the HGS setup parameters application ( First one from left )
 Login with password admin
 Change IP with the desired IP of the Client’s subnet.
 Connect the LAN1 port to the clients network.

For Hypermedia Systems that


include VOIP

NOTE : The Systems with VOIP option must include the RO 1.1 Card or and external D-link DIR
100 Router supplied by Hypermedia

Step 1 : PC1 Card with VOIP Basic

 Install the Hypermedia Software ( Included in disk )


 Connect your PC/Laptop with a straight Ethernet cable
to the LAN3 port at the RO 1.1 card ( Using DHCP mode )
 Connect the PC1 card LAN 1 port to LAN 1 port at the RO1.1.
 Connect the MG1 card Ethernet port to LAN 2 port at the RO1.1.
 If you have SU card at the HG, connect the SU card “Media
ETH “ port to LAN 2 at RO1.1 ( Don’t connect MG card )
 Activate your web browser and type in the IP address of the
RO1.1 / DIR-100 into the Address field and press “Enter.”
The default IP address of the RO1.1 / DIR-100 is
192.168.0.1 .
 Log with User : admin Password : hypergateway is not (admin) .
 Click on Manual Internet Connection
Enter in the WAN IP address the IP of the client subnet, subnet mask and
default gateway according to the client’s requirement.
 Connect the WAN port to the clients network and test ping .

Step 1 : HBX Card with VOIP Basic

 Install the Hypermedia Software ( Included in disk )


 Connect your PC/Laptop with a straight Ethernet cable
to the LAN3 port at the RO 1.1 card ( Using DHCP mode )
 Connect the HBX card MAIN ETH port to LAN 1 port at the RO1.1.
 Connect the HBX card MEDIA ETH port to LAN 2 port at the RO1.1.
 Activate your web browser and type in the IP address of the
RO1.1 / DIR-100 into the Address field and press “Enter.”
The default IP address of the RO1.1 / DIR-100 is
192.168.9.254 .
 Log with User : admin Password : hypergateway .
 Click on Manual Internet Connection
Enter in the WAN IP address the IP of the client subnet, subnet mask and
default gateway according to the client’s requirement.
 Connect the WAN port to the clients network and test ping .

Warning !
Don’t press the RESET hole. It deletes all the configuration of the d-link. If accidently it was
done, go to the d-link manuals at the distributer CD.

Step 2 : Installing the SIM cards and
Basic
connecting antennas.

 Each GSM card has 4 GSM modules ( 4 GSM “mobile phones” inside )
 Each GSM module has the option to store up to 4 SIMs ( 1 Active, 3 inactive )
 The SIM cards should be inserted at the front part of the CG4.1 card using the plastic SIM
holders ( Inactive SIMs can be inserted at the interior part)
 The antenna supplied by Hypermedia is the one be connected at the SMA connector. Each
GSM card must have it’s own antenna ( The antenna supplies signal for 4 GSM modules )
 Technical info about the antenna :
The impedance value of the SMA connector is 50 ohm.
The Antenna is OMNI type and the gain is 3dBi.

Step 2 : Installing the SIM cards and
Basic
connecting antennas.

 Optional for data centers or server rooms that have low GSM signal:
The Combiner can connect 8 GSM cards to 2 outputs for 2 Yaggi Antennas.
 The Yaggi antenna comes with a 20 meters cable to be installed out of the room. The gain
of the antenna is 15 dBi.

Each component has a short name:
Voip component -> MG
GSM component -> CG
PRI component -> PRI
LCR component -> LCR
LCR
Each one has a whole branch of configuration and monitoring
at the Hypermedia Management Console ( HMC ).

In order to design the client’s requirement we need to


connect the components as the client wishes.
To connect each component to other we use media
connections.

HMC Software Versions Basic

Each management card (PC/HBX) has its own version, the version number describe the
component the management and usage of each component.
The Version screen is the first screen of the HMC and has the following format.

B - Basic
P – HBX

Example: 1.78.3110-HLA
