Balance Transfer Flexi-Payment Plan (BTFPP) & QuickCash (QC)

Q1 What is the BTFPP and QC campaign all about?


It is a receivables-building campaign where customers can get Free Gifts and enjoy attractive
rates when they consolidate their outstanding balances from their other credit cards via:
i) transfer of outstanding balances from other accounts (credit / charge card or
personal loan account) or
ii) QuickCash the amount into any savings / current account

Customers get to settle the BTFPP/QC amount in 24 monthly instalments

Q2 What is the interest/profit? How is the interest/profit calculated?


This is a one time interest/profit of 8.99% p.a, calculated upfront on the principal amount and will
be billed over 24 months with the BTFPP/QC instalment amount.
Example: For approved BTFPP amount of RM5,000, the monthly instalment is computed as
follows: (RM5,000+(RM5,000 x 8.99% x 2 years))/24 months = RM245.80.

Q3 What is the promotion period for this campaign?


This campaign is valid until 31October 2010.

Q4 What are the card product types applicable for this campaign?
All Conventional & Al-Taslif cards, including Saff Card.

Q5 Who is eligible to apply for this BTFPP/QC?


All new and existing AmBank / AmIslamic Bank principal cardmembers are eligible to apply,
including staff.

Q6 How do I apply for this BTFPP/QC?


You must complete the application form to apply for BTFPP. For QC, you may complete the
application form or call 1300 80 8888 (Domestic) and (603) 2178 8888 (Overseas) to apply.

Q7 Is there a new application form specifically for this campaign?


Yes, cardmembers must apply under the new BTFPP/QC application form to qualify for the gifts.
There is one form, combined for both conventional and Al-Taslif BTFPP/QC application

Q8 What is the minimum amount for BTFPP/QC per application?


Minimum amount for BTFPP/QC per application is RM1,000. However, to be eligible for the free
gifts, the minimum BTFPP/QC amount is RM4,000.

Q9 Are there any AmBonus points granted under this promotion?


No AmBonus points will be granted for BTFPP/QC transactions.

Q10 Is there any early settlement fee charged if I perform early settlement within the 24 months
repayment period?
Yes, an early settlement fee of RM100 will be imposed if early settlement is effected prior to
maturity date and all outstanding monthly instalments together with the interest/profit shall
become immediately due and payable.

Q11 Can AmBank group staff apply?


Yes, provided they are AmBank / AmIslamic Bank cardmembers.

Q12 Can I apply for multiple BTFPP/QC?


Yes, provided there is available card limit

Q14 Can I choose to redeem multiple gifts of lower tier instead of 1 gift that I am entitled to for a
higher tier?
Yes. For example, if you performed a RM22,000 BTFPP, you can choose to get 1 unit of HTC
Smart and 1 unit of Canon Ixus 130IS instead of 1 unit of Canon EOS 550D or Apple Iphone
3GS 16GB. The delivery charge will be based on each item respectively.

Q15 Do I need to fill in separate form to request for multiple gifts?


No. You can choose your multiple gifts combination in one application form.

Q16 If I perform a RM2,000 BTFPP and another RM2,000 QC, will I be eligible for the gift?
No. The gift will only be given for a full eligible amount. There will be no gift for a combined
amount of Balance Transfer or QuickCash.

Q17 How do I redeem the gift?


Gifts will be sent to your mailing address via courier service.

Q18 Will there be any charges for the gift delivery?


Yes, the delivery charges shall be billed to your card account upon successful delivery

The delivery charges are subject to change.

Q19 How long does the courier service take?


Gifts will be couriered within 6 to 8 weeks from the date of BTFPP/QC approval.

Q20 Can I self-collect the gifts?


No. Gifts will be delivered via courier service to your mailing address.

Q21 Can the gift be couriered overseas?


No, we will only courier locally.

Q22 How will I know when the gift will be delivered?


The vendor will call you prior sending the gift, to confirm the delivery address and logistics (time
& date, etc)

Q23 Can I change the delivery address when vendor called to confirm the delivery address?
Yes you may re-direct the vendor to deliver to another address. This is only for the gift delivery.
If you need to change the mailing address for your monthly card statement, please call the Bank.

Q24 If the first delivery is not successful after agreeing to the delivery arrangement with the
vendor, can I make another request to change the delivery address?
Yes, you can arrange with the vendor your next delivery address. However, please note that
you will be charged again for the delivery if the gift has been sent out from the vendor’s office.
(Note : Multiple delivery charges will be incurred if the delivery address is changed after the gift
has been sent out from the vendor’s office)

Q25 Why is the delivery cost charged to me, the cardmember?


As with any normal product delivery, cost shall be borne by customers. This is similar to most
product purchased off-site which requires delivery e.g., purchases over the internet, mail order
or telephone orders.

Q26 Can I choose the colour of the gifts?


No selection of colours is allowed

Q27 Who can I contact if the gifts are not in good working condition or need repairs?
You may contact the respective service centres.

Special Balance Transfer Line

Q1 What is this Special Balance Transfer Line program about ?


The features of this campaign are:
1. An additional credit limit offered to customers for balance transfer use - Special Balance
Transfer Line. Customers will enjoy 2 credit limits, the normal credit card limit for daily usage
and another Special Balance Transfer Line

Q2 What can I do with this Special BT Line?


You can use this Special BT line for balance transfer use only ie., transfer your outstanding
balances from other bank’s credit / charge cards or personal financing accounts.
However, you cannot use it for QuickCash, retail purchases, cash advance, AmFlexi-Payment Plan
and Easy Payment Plan.

Q3 Can I use this Special BT Line to apply for QuickCash or other transaction?
No, this line for balance transfer use only.

Q4 How do I qualify for this Special BT Line?


If you earn at least RM3,000 per month and meet the required credit ratings, you will be offered the
Special BT Line on top of your normal credit card limit.

Q5 How much is the Special Balance Transfer Limit offered?


If you earn at least RM4,000 per month and meet the required credit ratings, you will enjoy a
minimum BT Limit of RM10,000 and up to a maximum of RM50,000

Q6 How do I know I am offered this Special BT Line?


You will be notified via a confirmation letter detailing the reference account no & the credit limit.

Q7 Do you have a offer period for this special line?


You are required to perform a balance transfer within 6 months from the date of the confirmation
letter. Otherwise this Special BT Line will be withdrawn at the end of the 6 months.

Q8 Will the Government Service Tax on credit card be levied on this special line?
No. It will not be levied with the card service tax.
It is only levied on your normal principal and supplementary card.

Q9 Will I get another physical credit card for this?


No, this is only an account to perform your balance transfer.
No physical card will be issued to you.

Q10 How do I know how much to pay for the Special BT Line?
A monthly statement will be sent to you detailing the transactions posted to the account, as per
your existing card. Please indicate account reference number in your payment advice.

Q11 Can I get the RM50 cash offered in this program?


No. The previous RM50 cash rebate offer has ended.

Question on IPhone 3GS 16GB

Q1 Is there any charges on IPhone? Should I tie up with any post paid plan?
No. It is not necessary to tie up with any post paid plan. You will be pre-registered with a Maxis
Hotlink prepaid line.

Q2 Can I use other Telco SIM card on IPhone?


Yes. You can use your existing SIM card from any Telco.

Q3 Can I upgrade the IPhone 3GS 16GB


Upgrade is not allowed under this program

Q4 Can I use the pre-registered Maxis Hotlink immediately?


Yes. It has RM5 airtime.

Q5 Can I choose mobile number for the Maxis Hotlink?


No, the mobile number will be registered by random number

Q6 Can I install / download IPhone application?


Yes, It will be at your cost.

Q7 I am existing Maxis Hotlink’s user / I have my existing line already, Can I skip to register the
new Maxis hotlink?
No, You are compulsory to register with new Maxis hotlink to receive the IPhone.

Q8 Who can I contact if the gifts are not in good working condition or need repairs?
You may walk-in or contact the Maxis service centre at 1800 82 1919.
