2. Stainless steel parts shall not be coated and shall not be exposed to inorganic zinc
primers, zinc bearing paints, or zinc bearing compounds.
Add
l) Vendor shall provide a list and a warning tag affixed to the machine that details the
quantity and location of materials required for shipping/storage purposes to ensure removal
prior to startup checkout (i.e., moisture absorbers, bearing paper).

Add

16.4.9 Material safety data sheet (MSDS)

a. Chemicals received at BP facilities shall have an MSDS.
b. Before shipment, a current MSDS shall be forwarded to BP facility for each substance
shipped in or with equipment.
c. Equipment or materials that contain or are coated with any of the following shall be
prominently tagged at openings to indicate nature of contents and precautions for shipping,
storage, and handling:
1. Insulating oils.
2. Corrosion inhibitors.
3. Antifreeze solutions.
4. Desiccants.
5. Chemical substances.
6. Hydrocarbon substances.
d. MSDS copies shall be affixed in protective envelopes to outside of shipment.
e. MSDS shall fully comply with local regulations for MSDS preparation and shall include
statement that substance is considered hazardous by regulation.
f. If any products are exempt from regulation, a statement to that effect shall be included.

17 Vendor's information

17.2 Proposals

17.2.3 Technical data

Modify d) to Read
A list of spare parts for commissioning, normal maintenance (including a major overhaul), and
the main insurance spares (e.g., rotor, guide blade carriers).
Add
q) API data sheets shall be used for all equipment.
r) Blading limitations, approximate lateral critical speeds, and a description of the Vendor
quality system.

Add
17.2.5 a. For each individual connection, allowable forces and moments on nozzles shall be stated in
the proposal and confirmed after the order.

b. For the lube oil system and other auxiliary systems, a preliminary bill of materials
identifying components by make, type, and materials shall be submitted.
c. Retention time of the lube oil reservoirs shall be provided.

17.3 Contract data

Add
17.3.5 a. Rating and design conditions of service shall be provided for all components (e.g., pumps
and their drivers, heat exchangers, and heaters).
b. Dial range for pressure and temperature indicators and control, alarm, and shutdown
setpoints shall be provided.
c. Certified outline drawings shall be supplied for main components of the auxiliary systems,
such as pumps and their drivers, filters, heat exchangers, and heaters.
d. Drawings for heat exchangers shall include dimensions of shell, tubesheets, and tubes, as
applicable.
17.3.6 Certified copies of test data shall be provided to BP prior to shipment.

17.3.7 Speed amplitude curve

a. Vendor shall provide a speed amplitude curve for each radial probe plane. This curve will
show:
1. Critical speeds below operating speed.
2. The next critical speed above operating speed.
b. The critical speeds (including responses at 2.5 AF and below) shall be identified as to
mode.
c. If the trip speed of the turbine is above or encroaches upon critical speed (including
responses at 2.5 AF and below), a modal response plot for the rotor operating at each such
critical speed shall be provided, showing the orbits of at least the following points along
the rotor:
1. Shaft ends.
2. Bearing centrelines.
3. Probe plains.
4. Casing seals.
5. All interstage seals.
d. Each orbit shall show phase and amplitude of the major axis.
e. Maximum and minimum design clearances at each of the points mentioned in c. shall be
shown.
f. Response plots shall be prepared for maximum and minimum bearing clearances.
g. Critical speeds (including responses with 2.5 AF and lower) below operating speeds shall
be shown with maximum allowable unbalance.
h. Critical speeds within or encroaching upon operating speeds shall be shown using five
times the maximum allowable unbalance.
