1 Verifying the Software Version of Sony Xperia

Firstly, Go to Settings > About phone
Secondly, check the Build number. If the Build number is not the latest version or required version. Follow Step 2
for upgrade.
2 Upgrade the Sony Xperia V Software Version

Connect Sony phone to laptop and launch the Sony PC Companion.
If don’t have Sony PC Companion software installed, it can be downloaded from the phone. For faster Sony PC
Companion download, make sure your laptop is connected to the internet and follow the steps below.
Setting> Xperia -> Connectivity -> Enable “Install PC Companion”
Plug out and Plug in back the phone, it will show the pop up as below. Click the Run Startme.exe for installation.

2.1 Launch and Start Sony PC Companion
Firstly, click Start at the Support Zone
2.2 Click Start for the Phone/ Tablet Software Update

2.3 Click Repair phone/ tablet
2.4 A screen showing Phone/ Tablet Software Update is displayed, click Next
* Remark: If below screen “Figure 1” is not showing and displayed the second screen “Figure 2”, then please go to
Chapter 3. Otherwise, just continue with Step 2.5.

2.5 Click Continue

2.6 Click Next for the Reminder
2.7 Prepare for Upgrade, and click continue

2.8 Wait for preparation step to complete
2.9 Follow the instructions to disconnect and reconnect the phone. Note especially step 5 below.

2.10 The phone will now start updating
2.11 Update complete

2.12 Finish and Exit the software update. Go for Chapter 4.
3 When no new firmware detected for your phone/tablet

Some phones running on firmware v1.4.0.0 might not be able to detect that there is a new firmware version
available, thereby showing the screen below. However this can be solved by following the steps below:

3.1 DO NOT connect your phone to your laptop (or disconnect it if it is already connected) and launch Sony PC
Companion.
Click Start at Support Zone.

3.2 Click Start for the Phone/ Tablet Software Update, and then click repair my phone/tablet.
3.3 Now connect the phone. Sony PC companion will detect the phone, then select Sony Xperia V(LT25).
Click Next

3.4 Click Next.
3.5 The screen shown in Step 2.5 will be displayed.

After this go to step 2.5, and follow the Step 2.5 until 2.12 to finish the upgrade process.

4 Checking for updated and required version

Go to Settings > About phone
Make sure the Build number now shows the latest version.
5 Connect TEMS Investigation and upgrade the ODM (On Device Manager) version
5.1 Checking the ODM version in the phone
Go to Settings > Apps

Verify the ODM version, if ODM version is not the required version. Follow step below for upgrade.
5.2 Connect phone to TEMS Investigation

In the Equipment list, the Sony LT25i will appear with a small triangle-shaped icon, indicating that an ODM
upgrade is required.

5.3 Right Click and Install the ODM to UE
5.4 Installation of ODM completed and Restart the phone.

Wait for a few seconds, installation will be completed. Plug out the phone and restart the phone.
After that, verification of the services can be done by performing Voice and FTP test for the phone.

5.5 Verify the updated ODM version

Go to Settings > Apps
