Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory
texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the
topic.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.K.5
With guidance and support from adults, respond to questions and suggestions from peers and
add details to strengthen writing as needed.

2. Teaching Model(s):
WG-begin day with Pledge of Allegiance all together
WG-Go through morning routines (calendar, sign language, sight words, morning videos, lively
letters)
WG-SW get white boards (call to get them by table) and begin phonemic awareness activity
WG-SW learn about pigs on pebble go
WG-Stand up hand up pair up, students will walk around room and pair up with somebody so
they can tell them a fact about pigs
WG-We will come up some facts together that we learned on the whiteboard
WG-Write 3 sentences about pigs
Independent- SW write three sentences on their own using the facts we learned

3. Objective(s):
-SWBAT understand yesterday today and tomorrow, how to correctly say the date, and identify
given sight words
-SWBAT identify beginning sounds and ending ap patterns
-SWBAT write three sentences using capitals and punctuation and correct spelling

-projector/elmo
-white boards
-marker
-Heggerty book

5. Instructional Procedures:
a. Motivation/Engagement:
-Allow students to attempt pledge all together
-Review how students should be sitting, looking, and listening

b .Developmental Activities or Learning Experiences:


-Go through daily calendar routine and videos
-allow students to grab boards and markers
-students will section the white boards into 4 sections
-say the words on page 4 under friday onset fluency and have students repeat it and say
the first sound
-have them write the first sound they hear
-review all the words together and stretch the words (stretch as many times as needed)
-SW learn facts about pigs on pebble go
-have students recall facts about pigs and write them all together
-sw share things they learned about pigs and choose some to write about
-SW write three facts on pigs that they learned

c. Closure:
-Ask students if they can think of something they learned about pigs
-have them kiss their brains and say “good job brain”

6. Accommodations, Modifications and Differentiations for Diverse Learners:


-this lesson will allow students to write, say, and see the words helping them to identify the
correct letter sounds

7. Assessment and Evaluation of Learning:


a. Formative:
-Listen to students say the sounds in the CVC words
-look at the students writing and look for correct usage of capitalization and punctuation
