2017 has become a fruitful year for Tagaytay Highlands and it is to my delight that we
are able to end it on a high note. From international and local awards to new residential
projects and facilities at the Club – this year is indeed filled with good news and great
progress in this premier mountain resort complex we call home.

We have successfully introduced Horizon Terraces – our most refreshing take on holistic
living. This first integrated development will feature a residential mix of garden villas and
suites and a central park perfect for families who yearn for an urban escape within the
comforts of nature.

Further renovations at the Club are being done along with the launch of new facilities
that will surely make every moment of your stay here enjoyable. As you indulge in our
world-class facilities and services, we will continue to provide you with only the best that
is at par with the lifestyle you deserve.

With our 25th anniversary fast approaching, exciting plans are in the works, to make
sure this much anticipated celebration will be one for the books. We will continue to craft
the perfect home and match it with world-class services made solely for you and every
member of the family.

As this extraordinary year draws to a close, we would like to thank you for your constant
support in our endeavors of bringing you the best in mountain resort living. Our efforts
and hardwork have truly paid off and will continue to be evident through the satisfaction
we bring you. Most importantly, may the warmth of the Yuletide season be upon you and
your family as you celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Rest assured we will

Your comments and suggestions are important tools for the improvement of our services and facilities. Please email
us at membership@tagaytayhighlands.com. Highlands View is published by the Tagaytay Highlands Clubs.
The newsletter is aimed at providing information and updates to our Club members and homeowners.
The year has offered countless and boundless surprises in our lives despite the many
challenges our country has faced for the past months. The Club has remained strong
and steadfast through club members’ unwavering contribution and support to the
Club. Our patronage has increased this year with the launching of the Highlanders
Card. That is why we have more activities in store for you as we bid goodbye for 2017
and welcome 2018.

As the season ends, we pray for joys and blessings. We long to see you here at the Club
this Yuletide festivities and we will not be tired of giving great services to you and
your family as we keep on updating our facilities and services for your comfort and
for your loved ones. Douglas Adams, an English writer, once said, “To give real service
you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that
is sincerity and integrity.” This to the best we can offer you. A service that is beyond
business.

Seeing you at the Club is a great honor for us. It gives us the pleasure to meet you,
to know you more and to improve our service based on your valuable feedback. We
always wish for your great time and laughter as you create fond loving memories with
your family and friends here in Tagaytay Highlands. “Lighten up, just enjoy life, smile
more, laugh more, and don’t get so worked up about things,” said Kenneth Branagh.
Life, therefore, is a matter of living it out and loving those who surround you. Tagaytay
Highlands is a special place you can share to those special to you. And in this season
of love and sharing, I greet you all a Merry Christmas and welcome home!

JERRY C. TIU
CLUB PRESIDENT

Don’t you just love the chilly Tagaytay breeze, the fog as it envelops the horizon
and the soft warm beds waiting for you here in Tagaytay Highlands? Every year, the
management and staff make great efforts to prepare for your holiday arrival. We
always have something for everyone.

But first, we would like to congratulate the Highlands Ladies Federation in their
fourth year as Champions of the Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines
(WGAP). No words can better express our deepest gratitude for bringing this honor
to your home course. Year after year, the ladies teamwork, and dedication paved the
way for their victory. Keep it up and let our banner fly! We also pay tribute to the
regular golfers at the course. With Green Obsessions, we will have a peek at what’s
going on in the course with some of our loyal patrons.

As the year draws to a close, we are proud to present to you a wonderful assortment
of upcoming events, entertainers, and promotions exclusively for Club members
and their guests. Check out the Christmas Treasures and Highlands Art sections
for the dates and venues of various events and performances. Celebrate gatherings
together at The Highlander Steakhouse. Read on the Joy of Christmas Feasts and

T
agaytay Highlands is known for its ethereal landscape with towering pine trees. There is no place in the
country where we have so much araucaria trees swishing with the wind. These trees are celebrated icons
of the Club. They stand upright, tall and proud even after all Christmas trees are packed and stored. The
Araucaria heterophylla is also known as the Norfolk Island pine endemic to its namesake, a small island in the
Pacific. The tree can thrive in warmer climates. It is popularly called triangle tree or living Christmas Tree given its
symmetrical, conical shape and the Club is blessed to have thousands of these lovely trees all year round. Here is
a collection of fine doodles of club members honoring the lovely trees this Christmas season.

I
n art, red dominates space. It catches the sight and then locks
the visual focus. Over the years, red is the color of passion,
seduction, revolution, authority and dominance, luck and
good fortune, abundance, spice and flavor. It is believed that red
renditions of artworks fetch the highest prices at auction houses.

This season, red dominates time and space. No Christmas will

bring great joy to the heart without this heartwarming color
beckoning the gaze. Reds come in full spectrum: maroon,
crimson, scarlet, red ochre, vermilion, cinnabar and cardinal, all
varying in depths of hues. Combine all shades and it will heighten
the senses.

It may be possible that red is the best festive color against the
gloomy winter skies. But here in the tropics, red compliments our
fresh woods and greens. It gives a feeling of cordiality. In food,
red whets the appetite. It conveys a graphic culinary cornucopia
of ripeness, succulently juicy fruits, spiced and sweetmeats and
savory sauces perfect for the holiday feast.

Tagaytay Highlands has a variety of private dining rooms perfect

for family dinners and reunions. We can assist you in any of your
banquet needs. Families of six to eight can be accommodated at
the Texas and Arizona rooms of the Highlander Steakhouse while
family reunions are best at the Montana Hall. Aside from filial
gatherings, another popular event for the season are engagement
parties. The Club can create an unforgettable proposal dinner for
the couple, their families, and closest friends.

change. Next is the refreshing Broiled Zucchini and Caprese
Salad. Arranged in an order of overlapping sliced red
tomatoes, zucchinis and buffalo mozzarella, it is a perfect
starter presented quite delicately. The taste of the cheese
blends well with the taste of tangy red tomatoes and fresh
zucchini slices.

Jumping to one of the celebrated seafood, the salt-water

bivalve mollusks is a superb choice. Oyster Trio offers three-
flavor selections such as broiled herbed butter, Rockefeller
style and grilled with mango-avocado salsa. Do try the dark
red gamey meat with our Herbed Butter Veal Chops styled

Chefs engineer a palatable blueprint in every sweet dessert we offer. The bitter-sugary foundation is paramount.
It should be balanced and every ingredient supports the satisfaction of the taste buds. According to studies,
chocolates make one feel emotionally better as it triggers the release of endorphins when eaten in reasonable
amount. This gives one a long happy life, a sure antidote for stress, and an energy boost to go forward to a long and
tiring day. So, let us enjoy these desserts in the different outlets of the Club.

almost eight years. He handles a young group of creative professionals
to carry out the demands of the department. A Certified Events
Management Specialist and with a Master’s degree in Art Studies, he
and his team strive to make each Club event truly worthwhile. “Our
daily deadlines are grueling but the act of learning, tasting, hearing,
and seeing so many things as we research, connect and create events
is always an amazing experience. We are challenged with timelines,
complexities of logistics, human relations, and customer satisfaction
in every program that we do. There is little time to relax. As members
and guests enjoy a party, let’s say the Countdown, we monitor program
sequence and personnel movement every 10 minutes just to ensure that
everything is done on cue up to the spark of the first light of fireworks.“
Similar to the operations of a theater, all program sequence happen on

a production schedule for everyone to follow. “Our job is like a show,
everything is pre-planned, rehearsed and prepped up. This is a no-
