National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NITT) is a residential campus having more

than 10,000 residents of Staff, Students and their family members. The campus has its own
24x7 hospital to cater the medical needs of the residents.
Applications are invited from eligible and willing doctors for engagement as Visiting
Consultant for NITT hospital.

1. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. MCI recognised MBBS with PG degree and Super Speciality (from Sl.no.1 to 3 above).
2. MCI recognised MBBS with PG degree / Diploma in concerned Speciality (from Sl.no.4 to
12 above).
3. MDS degree holder. (Sl.No.15)
4. Concerned UG degree (from Sl.no.13, 14 and 16 above).

The above mentioned qualification should be recognized by MCI (Medical Council of India) /
State Medical Council / DCI (Dental Council of India) / The Respective Councils.
2. PERIOD OF ENGAGEMENT

The initial Engagement will be for a period of 6 months. Further, extension of Engagement, as
per Institute’s policy, may be considered based on performance of the Visiting Consultant and
also, upon requirement.

3. REMUNERATION
The remuneration payable to the Visiting Consultant would be fixed, according to their
specialization shown in the above tabulation. i.e., Super Specialist (from Sl.no.1 to 3 above) –
Rs.3500 per visit (Timings: 2 hours), Specialist (from Sl.no.4 to 12 above) – Rs.2500 per visit
(Timings: 2 hours), Dentist (MDS) - Rs.2000 per visit (Timings: 4 hours), Ayurveda /
Homeopathy – Rs.1500 per visit (Timings: 2 hours). Physiotherapist – Rs.1000 per visit
(Timings: 4 hours).,
In addition, the Visiting Consultant is eligible for the Conveyance Charges of Rs.500 per visit.
4. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
i. The engagement of Visiting Consultants will be purely temporary and will not confer any
right to them to claim the status of a regular employee of the firm.
ii. The Visiting Consultant will not be entitled for any other Allowance or Benefits other than
those indicated above.
iii. The Visiting Consultants will abide by the Institution Rules and Regulations governing their
engagement.
iv. The Visiting Consultants will safeguard the security and confidentiality of all official
matters and secrecy of information coming to their knowledge.
5. TERMINATION OF ENGAGEMENT
The Engagement of the Visiting Consultant will stand automatically terminated on completion
of the prescribed tenure as specified in the Offer of Engagement. The Engagement can be
terminated even earlier, with 01-month Notice in writing either side.
6. SELECTION PROCEDURE
 By Personal Interview. The venue of interview will be in the Senate Room, Admin Block,
National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli – 620 015.
 Candidate shortlisted for Interview will be informed through NITT Website
(www.nitt.edu) and through e-mail as mentioned in the application form.
 The Institute has the right to decide the mode of screening and testing the applicant for
short listing and selection.
7. HOW TO APPLY
Prescribed application form and other details may be downloaded from Institute’s website
i.e., http://www.nitt.edu and the application duly filled in the prescribed form along with a
set of self-attested copies of documents in support of date of birth / age / educational /
professional qualification, post-qualification experience etc., should reach the office of The
Registrar, National Institute of Technology, Tanjore road, Tiruchirappalli –15. Tamil Nadu
PIN: 620015 on or before 23.04.2018 (5.00 PM). The envelope should be superscribed as
“Application for the post of Visiting Consultant”. The Institute shall not be responsible for
postal delays, if any.
