tools to access the information needed to manage the essential functions of your
organization.
Advanced Management – Add to the core features of Business Essentials
the extended capabilities for business intelligence, manufacturing, electronic
processing, and financial reporting functionality required by midsized organiza-

fund raising efforts have also been more challenging given the economic
conditions.  The funding demands are even more difficult since our ser-
vices are provided at no cost.  The reality is that we are being called upon
to expand services at a time of decreased funding.  We saw a record case
load last year and we are expanding our services to meet the demand
from a wider variety of clients.
EG:  How have the challenges facing the Rape and Abuse Crisis Cen-
ter changed over the past decade?
GD:  The technology has certainly been a big change.  Ten years ago
there were very few computers at our office; now we have a computer
in every office.  It’s a challenge to stay up to date with technology, but
we’ve managed to do what we can.  Another big change is the move from
solely providing services after a crime was committed to providing more
community education as a form of prevention.  We believe a lot can be
accomplished by changing things on the front end.  Hopefully more and
more of our time can be spent on prevention but with increased case loads
and funding challenges it’s not easy.
EG:  Tell us how the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center uses and benefits
from Microsoft Dynamics?
GD:  We started out running Great Plains Accounting back in the
80’s.  Today we use Microsoft Dynamics GP.  It’s a great program and
certainly meets all of our needs from general ledger, accounts payable,
inventory, and numerous other areas.  We benefit from the ease of use,
the tight integration with Microsoft Office, and the drill down capabili-
ties.  We are also looking to do more with SharePoint and Business Portal
in the future.
