BEFORE WELDING
Thickness The CRA Clad Layer - 0mm to +1.0mm
Pipe for Clad/Pipeline 0.75t to 1.5t
Diameter Range 60.3mm < D < 323.9mm
323.9mm < D < 610mm

De-magnitisation Average of 04 readings ≤ 2.0mT
& No single reading > 2.5mT
Longseams position On top half of pipe & separated minimum 100mm
Angle Bevel Manual Welding ± 2.5o
Machining Welding ± 1.0o
VI & UT Lam. should be
After field bevelling applied.
If a change in OD, ID or Wall thickness occurs, maximum taper should be 1:4
& the transition should be applied UT with minimum 150mm from the weld center
line. Using bullet tacks “within the bevel” and same parent
material
Tack weld & minimum 04 tacks with 25mm minimum (for OD ≥
100mm).
Width of Root Gap ± 0.5mm
Hi-low ≤ 2.0mm
Distance between girth
welds ≥ 1.5 OD
Pre-heat PQR
Temperature interpass ≤ 150oC.
DURING WELDING
Internal purging Maximum oxigen content is 0.2%
Until a weld throat thickness of 10mm.
Size of Root Face Manual Welding ± 33%
Machining Welding ± 0.5mm
Root penetration ≤ 1.5mm.
AFTER WELDING
Weld reinforcement Max 3.0mm
Undercut ≤ 0.5mm.
Overlap onto parent material ≤ 2.0mm per each side.
Repair within 6mm root
weld Not permitted.
NDT Minimum delay time 24 hours
PT should be availble to
Any defects observed by VI assit
After welding 100% PT & 100% RT
