The National Open University (UNA), was founded on September 27, 1977,
is a public institution, experimental college education, under the modality of
Distance Education studies. Since its creation and to date, it offers undergraduate
and postgraduate quality university studies throughout the country, with its own
conception established in its Mission and a future projection according to its Vision,
following the Principles established in its legal bases, Creation Regulations and
Operating Regulations.
The National Open University is an alternative for the training of qualified
professionals and entrepreneurs in priority areas of social development, which
guarantees their insertion in the national and international labor market. Its
Headquarters is located in Caracas, Capital District but covers the entire national
territory through Local Centers and Support Offices. Its educational activity has as
its fundamental principle academic freedom, materialized through the exercise of
teaching, research and university extension, because through these activities the
University guarantees free expression in the dissemination of thought and
production and artistic creation, humanistic, scientific and technical.
Distance education is a study modality or independent training process
mediated by different technologies, in order to promote learning without limitations
of location, occupation or age of the students. It is a self-directed study by the
student, who must plan and organize his / her time, didactic material and tutorial
guide to respond to the demands of the course that follows, without physical,
economic or social restrictions and with flexible schedules and schedules.
This type of study is characterized, fundamentally, by the physical
separation of teachers; the use of information and communication technology
(printed material, digitized material, audiovisual material, computer resources,
other materials and media), for instruction and interaction between teachers and
students and students among themselves; the facilitation of permanent education
strategies and the equality of study opportunities for the entire population.
The teacher becomes a facilitator and advisor of learning, a creator of
situations with innovative means that allow the student to achieve behavioral
changes and the development of the skills he needs. Distance education, given the
broad social coverage that can be achieved, makes equal opportunities and
access to study a reality, so that it becomes a response to the demands of higher
education of the population.
The Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies (DIP) of the National
Open University, is destined to scientifically investigate and disseminate the results
obtained in the interpretation of reality in the different areas of knowledge, as well
as to design and develop postgraduate programs to raise the academic level and
professional performance of graduates in higher education. The main objective is
to train human resources in the areas of knowledge required by society at the
highest level of academic and technological development to respond to needs,
interests, situations and problems of the different sectors of the university and its
environment.
Currently in the era of communications, cybernetics, high-tech information
technology, financial market expansion and globalization, companies have the
need to transform, to reconvert, to recycle and integrate, to be able to compete in a
world without barriers, where those who have and handle information adequately
and the new competitiveness instruments will have an absolute advantage over
those who do not have these modern work tools.
To reconvert, to develop processes of reengineering, of modernization, are
common terms in these days, both in the public and private sectors. Together with
them, one also hears the real difficulty of developing or initiating these processes,
particularly because the human resources of the institutions are not adequately
prepared to be promoters of the great change that the new millennium brings with
it.
The previous argument supports an inescapable need to initiate all the
processes by the most important reconversion: that of the young professionals,
who will have the responsibility of directing the rest of the change; this
responsibility corresponds mainly to professional and academic training
institutions. Reason for which to train professionals in the area of business
administration, the Master in Business Administration is presented, which is
adapted to the multiple demands of the Venezuelan productive sector, both public
and private.
The curriculum is made up of three curricular components: Initiation
component, Modular component and Methodological component. Among the
curricular units taught include: Research Methodology II, Accounting, Quantitative
Methods in Business Management, Production Management, Elective I:
Entrepreneur Development, Tutoring II, Integral Marketing, Formulation and
Evaluation of Projects, Research Development Business and Degree Work.
The professional graduated from the Master in Business Administration, is a
professional capable of increasing their training acquired in the third level of higher
education and provide the participant with the tools that allow him to deepen in the
field of administration in general and business in particular.

national and international companies, as well as being a sensitive professional
before changes and capable of evolving and acting with a critical spirit and as an
innovative agent.

administration. Deepens in the field of business administration based on the
methodological study for research and the application of theories, models,
techniques and procedures, depending on the problems to be solved in the context
of business administration at national and international levels. international.
The main requirement of entry is the approval of the Initiation Course, the
offer is a distance modality, which is why it uses the Open Source Moodle
Platform. This platform facilitates the development of distributed learning, using the
communication resources of the Internet, while supporting collaborative learning
anywhere and at any time.
