RE: PROGRAM FOR IMPROVEMENT OF WATER SERVICES IN MOMBASA COUNTY-
LIKONI AREA-PHASE 1, CONTRACT NO.MOW1/KWSRP-1/012/2016-2017

PROJECT FITTINGS.

The above refers.

Description of fittings in the bill of quantities as nodes is ambiguous and hence the contractor is not able
to quote for the exact fittings in a particular node.

We therefore write this letter to notify you that our tendered rates for the project fittings are under
quoted and will not cover the cost of procuring. A copy of the ideal fittings is attached for your perusal.

Other works in the BOQ are competitively quoted based on the current market rate and only covers the
particular works and hence will not help in the cost of procuring project fittings.

In addition the detailing of meters is missing two (2) crucial fittings i.e. the strainer and the non-return
valve. We advise that this two be incorporated in the assembly for the meters to work properly.

We request for your consideration in our proposal of a variation order pursuant to clause 13 of general
condition of the contract
