Turning on the analyzer
Position the analyzer properly on the bench. After
connecting the power cable to the back panel of the
analyzer, press the main power switch.
The analyzer will load the firmware. During this process,
the LED on the power button will flash. The loading takes
approximately one minute. After loading, the analyzer will
automatically display the measuring menu.
Measurement settings
Choose “Method”, “Profile”, “Sample ID”, “Operator” name
and enter either the expected flash point or the start and
final temperature.
Measurement “Profiles” can be entered and modified in
the “Settings” menu. Profiles include preset measurement
temperatures, appropriate sample names and if required
an offset for correlation to other instruments.
For unknown samples a scanning measurement (SCAN)
can be used, applying a wide measuring range entering
Tinitial and Tfinal (session switch grey).
For routine samples with approximately known flash point
simply enter the expected flash point (Texpected; session
switch red / white). Tinitial and Tfinal are set automatically as
required by the selected standard method.
ASTM D7094, ASTM D93 c and ASTM D56 c, SCAN
If you choose these standard methods then the 2 mL
sample cup must be used. Use a pipette to pour the
sample into the sample cup up to the 2 mL mark. Put a
stirring magnet into the cup for stirring the sample during
the test.

ASTM D 6450
This standard method requires the smaller sample cup
where only 1 mL must be filled. Fill the sample cup with a
pipette to the 1 mL mark and add a stirring magnet.
Starting the measurement
Put the sample cup into the opening of the front panel and
close the door. Press the button to start the
measurement.
As soon as the measurement was started, the screen
changes to the measure screen which provides
information about the status of the measurement. The
entire measurement is fully automated. A measurement
can be aborted by pressing the button
When the measurement is finished, the result is displayed.
At the same time it is also saved in the result file. Press
to return to the measurement screen. Clean the
electrodes and the sample cup to be ready for the next
measurement.
Results menu
The results are stored directly in the “Results” menu and
can be viewed and compared there.
The results are shown for each method separately.
Change the method to view the corresponding results.
Printing of results & LIMS transfer
Select the results to be printed / transferred by a clicking
and holding, then press the “PRINT” or “LIMS” button.
The selected results are printed or sent to LIMS. (For
printer & LIMS configuration see the “System” menu).
Export results on USB memory stick
To export all results connect a USB thumb drive and wait
a few seconds. The memory stick is automatically
mounted. Pressing the “EXPORT” button will store all
results from all standard methods (including the log-file).
