Abstract

In the world of education, information services that can be directly accessed by the civitas are
certainly very necessary. Technology as an information service existence has now become a necessity.
Information services that can be directly accessed by the civitas will certainly have a very positive impact
on educational institutions in the midst of intense competition. One of the results of this technology
development is the Academic Information System. This Academic Information System is the backbone of
Higher Education to manage the academic totally and comprehensively by providing quality service and
acting as the guard of Academic Quality. Currently, there are still many universities whose Academic
Information System has not been a major concern and has not been managed optimally to manage the
overall components of its educational process, largely due to the absence of a systematic and comprehensive
design process of the Academic Management System. Utilization of Information and Communication
Technology in Academic Management System of Universities become a requirement of universities
management of today and need more attention because influential on educational achievement. This is what
lies behind the research on Academic Information System in National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia.

This research aims to build Academic Information System National Polytechnic Institute of
Cambodia with web-based so as to provide more benefits to many civitates in obtaining academic
information. Among other things from the student can see new information related to academic activities
such as information about schedule, announcement, and score. From the administrators, the job becomes
easier. In this system, menus can only be accessed by specific users such as students, lecturers, and
administrators. The programming languages and databases used for this Academic Information System
application are PHP as programming languages and MySQL as the database. For the civitas user, of course,
the application of Academic Information System provides the ease to get the necessary information quickly.

It is hoped that with the build Academic Information System of Web-based, the problem of
providing information on the study of the students will be resolved and the National Polytechnic Institute
of Cambodia can immediately develop a new system in order to work optimally. In the future, civitas will
be more dependent on technology, technology exploration, of course, will be more needed for the utilization
of technology can be more optimal.

Abstrak

Di dunia pendidikan, layanan informasi yang bisa langsung diakses oleh sivitas tentunya sangat
dibutuhkan. Teknologi sebagai eksistensi layanan informasi kini telah menjadi sebuah kebutuhan. Layanan
informasi yang bisa langsung diakses oleh sivitas pasti akan memiliki dampak yang sangat positif bagi
institusi pendidikan di tengah persaingan yang ketat. Salah satu hasil pengembangan teknologi ini adalah
Sistem Informasi Akademik. Sistem Informasi Akademik ini merupakan tulang punggung Perguruan
Tinggi untuk mengelola secara keseluruhan akademik dan komprehensif dengan memberikan pelayanan
yang berkualitas dan bertindak sebagai penjaga Kualitas Akademik. Saat ini masih banyak universitas yang
Sistem Informasi Akademiknya belum menjadi perhatian utama dan belum dikelola secara optimal untuk
mengelola keseluruhan komponen proses pendidikannya, terutama karena tidak adanya proses perancangan
Sistem Manajemen Akademik yang komprehensif dan sistematis. Pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi dan
Komunikasi dalam Sistem Manajemen Akademik Universitas menjadi kebutuhan manajemen perguruan
tinggi saat ini dan perlu mendapat perhatian lebih karena berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar. Inilah yang
tertinggal dibalik penelitian Sistem Informasi Akademik di Institut Politeknik Nasional Kamboja.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun Sistem Informasi Akademik Politeknik Negeri Kamboja
dengan berbasis web sehingga dapat memberikan manfaat lebih bagi banyak civitas dalam memperoleh
informasi akademik. Antara lain dari mahasiswa dapat melihat informasi baru yang berkaitan dengan
kegiatan akademik seperti informasi jadwal, pengumuman, dan skor. Dari tugas administrator menjadi lebih
mudah. Dalam sistem ini, menu hanya bisa diakses oleh pengguna tertentu seperti mahasiswa, dosen, dan
administrator. Bahasa pemrograman dan database yang digunakan untuk aplikasi Sistem Informasi
Akademik ini adalah PHP sebagai bahasa pemrograman dan MySQL sebagai database. Bagi sivitas
pengguna, tentu saja penerapan Sistem Informasi Akademik memberikan kemudahan untuk mendapatkan
informasi yang dibutuhkan dengan cepat.

Diharapkan dengan dibangunnya Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis Web, masalah penyediaan
informasi mengenai studi siswa akan terselesaikan dan Institut Politeknik Nasional Kamboja dapat segera
mengembangkan sistem baru agar bisa bekerja optimal. Ke depan, civitas akan lebih bergantung pada
teknologi, tentunya eksplorasi teknologi tentunya akan lebih dibutuhkan agar pemanfaatan teknologi bisa
lebih optimal.
