2017 Global Creative Jongie Jupgi (Paper Folding) Contest
The Paper Culture Foundation will be holding a contest intended to contribute towards the
development of worldwide Jongie Jupgi (paper folding) and to promote Jongie Jupgi (paper folding)
as cultural, scientific, and geometric design activity.
Eligibility
 Open to amateur and professional paper
folders worldwide
Rules to Apply
 Creative original paper folding work
 Artist’s own works which are completely
original without reference to the work of
others
 Creations representing
scientific ,educational, and cultural value
The following should be submitted.
 Paper folding finished works
 Organizers may request the diagrams and
scraps to the contest winners.
Work should be submitted in good condition inside
a protective box which can be delivered by hand or
sent by post.
Specifications
 2 dimensional size: less than 469mm x
318mm
 3 dimensional size: less than 350mm x
350mm x 350mm
Judging Criteria
 Priority will be given to entries made from
1 piece of completely square paper which
has not been cut or glued together
 In the case of complex models priority
will be given to those models using the
lowest number of square sheets.
 Modular works could be assembled
without glue
 The models or works with fresh ideas and
originality
 Creative original works which
demonstrate a scientific and cultural
artistic approach
 The works with excellent folding
techniques and excellent colour and paper
selection

after end of the exhibition, on December
1st (Mon) during office hours (9am to
6pm)
 All other submissions will be available for
collection from the Jong Ie Nara museum
from Oct. 24 (Tue) to 26 (Thu) during
office hours (9am to 6pm)

 That the work submitted has not been entered for any other contest or exhibited elsewhere and has been produced solely for the
purpose of this contest. (Pieces made for student’s graduation projects are exempted from this rule)
 If submission was awarded but later discovered that it does not meet contest criteria, the given prize (certificate, cash prizes,
other gifts ) will be returned and the entrant will be held responsible for any civil or criminal penalties the might be incurred.
 Prized winning work will be published in JONGIENARA PLUS magazine under copyright protection from Jong Ie Nara.
 When work is returned (the entrant will be responsible for packaging and postage costs), the organisers or delivery company is
not responsible for any damages or losses during the return process.
 The organisers do not take any responsibilities for loss or damage of work left unclaimed at the organiser’s premises
