Quality Engineer (O & M)

Suzlon Energy Limited, is a wind turbine supplier based in Pune, India. Formerly ranked as the world’s fifth largest
supplier of WTG. Over the past two decades, Suzlon has built and consolidated its presence in 19 countries, by
installing over 14,800 MW of wind turbines globally. The Company has 14 manufacturing facilities spread across
India, China (Joint Venture) and America. Having a dynamic workforce of over 7000 employees from 19 nationalities.

Roles:

 Ensure adherence & Support to implement Quality control process activities (Like QAP,QCP- QCPIR, Check
list) throughout site

 Ensuring Preventive maintenance process, Torqueing schedules, Lubrication schedules & periodic
maintenance activities

 Ensuring availability of latest documents & maintenance of Quality records

 Measuring instrument & equipment’s calibration (Including tools, jigs & fixtures, lifting device, PPE- Safety
belt, helmet & shoes etc.)

 Machine availability / Health Check

 Support OMS in achieving Machine availability and improvement of MTBF & MTTR targets.

 Carrying out wind farms & substation audits as per laid guide lines & Procedure

 Supporting IDRV audit teams/OMS teams in rectification ,Carry out validation of critical / major audit
observation for smooth working of turbines

 Carrying out technical audits of all WTG and full wind farm ( in line with IDRV checklist)at their respective
sites with technical support engg & report findings for correction

 Daily review of WTG event recording, In case of abnormalities taking necessary actions.
  Routine Inspection & Testing

Carrying out receiving material inspection wrt to O&M requirement’s, as per inspection type serialised
profile, master inspection characteristic, inspection plan etc. & verify test certificate/Validate the same.

Supporting HOTO process for smooth handling over & assuring completion of all HOTO points

Carrying out routine inspection of WTG by walk through audits

Supporting site management in implementing proposed TCI, Quality & safety alert.

Support, resolve verify & validate NCR’s for technical closure.

Support Non –Conformity management team in providing necessary material data for warranty /FOC claims
and also support carrying out retrofit/ modification activities by supplier /Technical groups.

Monitoring of FIFO practices , Shelf Life, Storage & handling methods of Stock Items( Include hazardous &
non-hazardous)

 Miscellaneous

 Arranging periodic QMS review meeting with all the cross functional team & record minutes. In subsequent
meet previous MOM points are reviewed, with all customer complaints, best practices, appreciation, audit
observation, Non –conformities, warranty issues, PM schedules, Quality safety alert, mock drills etc.

 Site wise MIS reporting to Regional /country Quality Manager& alert in case of any critical /major issues for
timely intervention.

 Handling of PDCA Audit, ISO Audit & Customer audits.

 Acting as Site Safety Officer & First Aider.

 Carrying out all OMS excellence programs like Quality improvement projects, SCEP, 5S etc. throughout my

QA Engineer (Incoming & In process)

 Carry out Incoming inspection of parts as per Quality Plan & their Sampling plan.
 Identification of incoming materials.
 PPM Calculation & Monitoring its trend, RTV clearance.

 Responsible for in process product quality as per control plan (dimensions, appearance & fitment).

 Making 8D, SCAP& CAPA as per root cause to fix the problem permanently for the in-house as well as
Customer Rejection.

 Handling a large supplier base of 130 Suppliers, Preforming Supplier audits Plan Vs Actual, Calculating top
worst 5 Supplier & Focusing on improvement plans for them.
 QMS documentations maintained related to in process as well as incoming.
 Sound Knowledge in Components Drawings.
 Making X bar and R-charts to check process capability ( CP- CPK Values)
 Verify that proper 1S & 2S are maintained and material is kept at its defined place / Location.
 Feedback of quality problems from the production team and finding best practices to improve quality level.
