Primary Source Evidence Worksheet

Use this worksheet to help you analyze the primary documents. Remember, you are focusing on one
particular ethnic group in Canada. For each of the documents, consider the following:

1. What type of source is it? 2. Who created it? When was it created?

3. What historical events were occurring when it was created? How do you know?

4. Why was it created? (What was its intended purpose?) Who was the intended audience?

5. What point of view/position is represented? What might this say about Canadian society at the
time? (Think about time period, events, societal attitudes and beliefs...)
