Essential Question(s):

 How can I quickly receive assessment data on my students using an interactive web tool?

Learning Outcomes:
 Teachers will be able to set-up a Plickers account.
 Teachers will be able to create a class roster and organize assessment folders.
 Teachers will be able to create a sample quiz for their peers during the workshop.
 Teachers will be able to download the Plickers mobile app and learn how to give a Plickers
assessment using the live view mode.
 Teachers will be able to gather and analyze data they receive to guide further instruction.

Laptop/Smart Board
 Copies of handout

 Printed set of Plicker cards

Conduct Pre-workshop Survey


 First, distribute the workshop agenda.
 Using Google Forms conduct a brief survey to include questions to identity the learning
need for this workshop, as well as gather information on teacher’s general knowledge of
using technology to gather student data.
 Questions include general knowledge of iRespond, Kahoot and Plickers
 Survey also includes question on teacher willingness to learn and implement new web
tool into their instruction.

Review Needs Assessment Results


 Show and discuss the general results of the survey
 Discuss how the results will guide the workshop

Demonstration and mock quick


 Launch the workshop Weebly; review the workshop overview and goals
 Share their workshop agenda with participants
 Launch the PPT presentation on how to best use Plickers.

Learn how to access and use Plicker data


 Presenter will walk participants through accessing assessment data on the Plicker
website.

Exploration and Creation (hands-on practice)


 Presenter will demonstrate how to create a Plicker teacher account and how to upload a
class roster.
 Next, participants will create a sample quiz using various test question types (multiple
choice and/or true false), as well as learn how to include an image with their quiz
question. Allow time for practice, trial and error.
 Teachers will download the mobile app and presenter will walk though how to best use
the app and que their test questions.
 Using both their laptop for live view and their mobile devise, participants will launch their
test and have a peer answer their sample question.
 Presenter will be provide one-on-one assistance where necessary.

Next Steps

 Presenter will allow time for questions and concerns, as well as demonstrate how to
access the help section of the Plicker site.
 Additionally, using the workshop Weebly site, presenter will share a recorded screencast
on Plickers, as well as various web links created by teachers with various suggestions on
how they use Plickers in their classroom.
Evaluation/Assessment:
Teachers will participate in a brief post-workshop survey to assess their understanding of
Plickers and how they can utilize in their classroom.

* Pre- and post-workshop surveys will be quickly accessible via QR code, as well as hyperlinked in
handout. Results will be analyzed by instructor.
