Baker Hughes uses A-7 and A-7L calcium chloride cement additives to help reduce
waiting-on-cement times. These accelerators are used to develop early compressive
strength and shorten thickening time. A-7 flakes are dry-blended in cement, but also
dissolve readily in the mix water. A-7L liquid is used offshore or where dry-blending Applications

Baker Hughes uses ASA-301 and ASA-301L cement additives to eliminate free-fluid
development in cement slurries mixed with freshwater, seawater or saturated salt
systems at temperatures below 300°F (149°C). These additives are slightly retarding to
the slurry and provide increased mixing viscosity. Applications

The BJ BA-10A and BJ BA-10AL bonding agents are polymeric gas control additives that
provide excellent bonding potential due to their adhesive properties. The additive’s film-
forming tendency limits interparticle flow within the matrix of the cement to control

The BJ BA-56 bonding agent is a gas migration control additive. By maintaining low
fluid loss, limiting free water and providing excellent solids support, this bonding
agent can effectively control annular gas migration. It consists of a blend of water-
