This building sits on LRB installed on the concrete rigid frane, and LRB can be seen directly from outside and from first floor in the building. This plan ains that a huge glass box looks like floating in the air to people valking on the street. There was a well-known report on fire resistance of rubber bearings by C.J.Derham(NR Technology Vol.7 part2 1976). In Japan, fire test of rubber bearing was also carried out by Base-isolation subcommittee of Architectural Institute of Japan in 1987. Sunitono construction carried out 5 cases of fire tests on rubber bearings and lead rubber bearings including one preliminary test using small LRB and four cases of full size bearings. Especially the fire test using full size bearings were carried out under actual vertical desien load(=160ton) during 3 hours burning.
