Isharon Hi Isharon Mein : Dumb Charades

Speech is silver, silence is Gold. Its time for Action, Words are Old !

• Hindi dumb charades

• Every team will have 3 members

• The event will be organized in various rounds which are :

• Movie Titles (Time limit : 2 minutes)

• Mukhra of movie songs (Time limit : 3 minutes)

• Personality Round (Time limit : 11⁄2 minutes)

• Each member of the team has to come at least once for gesticulation

• Lip movement or any kind of sound is unacceptable

• Any word to be guessed should not be directly pointed out to other team members.

• Any word can be broken into maximum of two parts.

• In case of any discrepancies, the decision of judges will be final and binding.

Creative Writing (English & Hindi)

• There shall be two categories

(a) Poetry (Poem a sketch)

(b) Prose (Theme writing)

• Time limit : 1 hr. 30 min.

• Poetry (Poem a sketch)

• Participants will be given a sketch

• They will have to write a coherent poem, based on the sketch.

• Emphasis should be laid on emotional interpretation.

• Prose (Theme Writing)

• The participant will be required to write an original piece of prose / essay based on the topics
provided.

• Word limit shall be announced before the event starts.

• Topic shall be given on the spot.

General Quiz

• Teams of three will have to answer the written elimination

• The top 4 teams, selected on the basis of their scores in the elimination, will compete in the
finals.

• The finals will have audio & visual rounds besides the regular oral rounds.

• Topics : India, World, Literature and Language, Entertainment, Geography, History, Sports,
Science and Wild Life, Current Affairs etc.

Entertainment Quiz

• Two members per team

• Quiz based on Bollywood, Hollywood and Music World.

Extempore

• Topic will be given on the spot.

• Each speaker will be allowed to speak for 2 min.

• Speaker will be judged on fluency, relevance to the topic given, pronunciation and expressions.

The Fabric of Life (T-Shirt Designing Contest)

• Time Limit : 2 hrs.

• Participants will be provided with Cut-outs (Ivory Sheets). They have to get the sketch pens,
crayons, pencils and other material required.

• Participants must draw front & back of the T-shirt and make it clear in the submission which
part is supposed to be the front.

• Don’t include anything that might possibly cause offence.

• Theme : Incredible India.

English / Hindi Elocution

• Participants can choose a prose piece or a poetry piece or a self composed piece.

• Maximum speaking time : 4 min.

• Speakers will be judged on delivery projections, continuity, Voice Modulation, Impact etc.

• Actions and gestures may be allowed but no additional marks would be given.

• Reading from the paper will entail negative marking.

then Ad-Effect is the event for you... from burnt match sticks to fused bulbs, you ought to let
your imagination run wild and discover the hidden value of these seemingly worthless objects.

Let the marketer in you take control. Making people acknowledge this hidden worth is what you
have to do to be the numero uno.................

• Teams can perform in Hindi or English

• Each team can have minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 participants.

• Total time of performance should not exceed 03 minutes. Exceeding time limit will lead to
negative marking.

• Each team will be given the name of a product one day in advance. They should contact --------

• Teams can use any brand names, punch lines, jingles, banners, posters, props, charts etc. to
advertise the product.

• Points will be awarded for creativity, concept, innovation and overall presentation.

• Points will be deducted for indecent code.

Face Painting
• 2 members per team
• Paint your partner’s face to any extent
• Topic will be given on the spot
• Time Duration : 2½ hrs.

Greeting Card / Envelope Designing

• Theme : Deepawali
• Time Limit 3 hrs.
• Medium Any
• Arrangement for sheets, colours, pencils, accessories etc. to be made by the participants.

JAM (Just a Minute)
a) Given a topic, the participant is required to speak in English without deviating from the topic
until she completes the 1 minute assigned to her or a competing participant finds out some
mistake in her delivered words.
b) Each speaker will be given 10 seconds in the beginning, as preparatory time for the topic
assigned to her.
c) Each speaker will be awarded marks for speaking on the basis of the time used by her. 1
second is equivalent to 1 mark.
d) For every objection that is sustained 10 points will be awarded to the objector & 5 marks will
be deducted from the speaker’s account.
e) For every objection that is overruled 10 marks will be deducted from the objector’s account &
5 marks will be awarded to the speaker.
f) The decision of the panel of experts will be final.
g) Objections by other participants can be according to the following parameters.
• Pause, hesitation, delayed start.
• Stutter, slur, stammer (all grouped as one objection-speeach defect)
• Grammatical Error / Wrong Pronunciation / Wrong usage of a word.
• Deviation from the topic
• Borrowing another speaker’s idea within the topic.
• Using words in a language other than English.
• Using Non-sensical words / Junk Words
• Repetition of words & phrases
• Factual & logical errors

• 3 member team
• Elimination Round shall be conducted and 4 teams will qualify for the finals
