COMBIFLEX®

Mounting and Engineering System for

Relay and Control Panels.
A building system offering well-engineered
flexibility and high performance

Build in the protection and security you need

The COMBIFLEX® mounting and engineering system
is a complete concept for engineering of relay and
control panels. Based upon this concept, complete
panels can easily be built.
COMBIFLEX® components can provide simple custom
logic circuits via auxiliary relays, timers and standard
functions.
Measuring relays e. g. for currents and voltage
provide simple and fast system solutions. In addition,
some of the special measuring relays available offer
characteristics not available with standard protection
terminals.
All our products, however, have the advantage of

New Compact Line Protection and Breaker Failure Relays

The RAHx/RXHx 4xx-series of numerical products are
intended for general power system applications and as
back-up to 500-series terminals for all system voltage
levels including EHV. The relays are also suitable for
retrofit of installations using static or electromechanical
designs. Several mounting alternatives are available;
19" racks, panel mounting cases and DIN-rail adapters.
Ease of handling is an added benefit as well as the
easy integration with all other relays and test switches
of COMBIFLEX® design.

Easy to mount, easy to connect and easy to identify

Mounting system strong on flexibility…

Mounting system
The COMBIFLEX® mounting system for relay equipment has been shaped over
decades of practical experience from assembly of complete relay and control systems.
The system is based on the 19" rack standard which permits simple combination
of products using the same international standard. It offers various ways of building
up the relay and control panels. All the minor details of COMBIFLEX® integrate
perfectly and form well-functioning panel designs.

Connection system built for safety…

Connection system
The COMBIFLEX® connection system has been used over many decades and
has shown itself as a very reliable system, combining flexibility with installation
convenience. It is used for wiring panels and rack-mounting assemblies which
require dual snap-in terminals for each electrical point. Moreover, the terminals
are insulated from human contact, enhancing personnel safety. Safety is further
improved by the fact that all the terminals are locked in place. This connection system
lends itself to CAD-design as a tool when creating new relay and control systems.

Designation system: Not seeing is believing…

Designation system
The COMBIFLEX® designation system is part of the invisible mounting
and engineering system which nobody sees in everyday work but
which would be immediately noticeable if it was missing. The
designation system is the backbone of the process as it covers the
entire chain from marking of relays and other components on the
drawings to defining their connection points in circuit diagrams and
connection tables. This system facilitates computer aided design.

New Panel Maounting Cases RGHP

The new RGHP panel mounting cases enables affordable cut out mounting of
indiviual COMBIFLEX modules in panels. Test switches, powersupplies, auxilary
relays and measuring relays of all types may thus be flush panel mounted. Any
relay type of COMBIFLEX® design can thus be mounted and used in existing
panels. Mounting in typical switch-board panel cut-outs is more affordable with
the new RHGP panel mounting cases.

New Retrofit Case for 900-series

A version of the size new case RHGP 4B is intended for mounting in the same cut out
space as the earlier 900-series relays made by ABB in Switzerland, e.g. the current
relays type IKC 9xx, IKT9xx, the voltage relays type UKT9xx and the Rxx9xx-series
etc. This is introduced to facilitate retrofit and extensions of earlier installations.
