User Interface
The various views, menus, toolbars and windows of the user interface, all are customizable, dockable and un-dockable:
Opening a design

When a design is measured on opening, the values in the Data window are populated automatically. This data can be edited manually if desired. All
data is calculated from the measured sections, visually checking the measured sections can be done by displaying the section contours (step 5).
Conducting a Resistance Analysis
There are a number of empirical methods and one analytical method for calculating the resistance of the design. To access the resistance prediction
options choose “Methods” from the “Analysis” menu. If an empirical method is chosen then the calculations will be done based on the input data in
the Data window (this data will have been either measured from the model automatically or edited manually by the user) and that is all that needs to
be done. Empirical methods are calculated immediately, in the case of the Analytical Slender Body method, this must be run manually because it is a
little more time consuming to evaluate.

If necessary, adjust the speed range ovewhich calculations

are made.
Interpreting the Resistance Results
Results are displayed in both tabular and graphical format in the Results window and Graph Window.
Calculation of the Wave-Wake
The Wave wake may be calculated using the same analytical formulation as the slender body resistance method. It can be quite time consuming to
compute. A good approach is to make a rough calculation with few grid points and low accuracy to ascertain whether the field of calculation is as
desired, then proceed with a more accurate calculation with more grid points and higher level of accuracy. The calculated wave-wake can be saved if
desired.
Visualization of the free surface elevation can be done in any of the views and may be shaded in the Perspective view.
Saving and Outputting
As stated earlier the Data used for the empirical methods is automatically calculated from the model. These values can be overridden by the user (or
even entered on their own without a model). These data can be saved and opened directly from the file menu. The free-surface data may also be
saved.
