Objectives: 6.1.5.2 Students should be able to do addition and subtraction


with fractions.

Activities (Description of Procedures)

● Starting
● There is needed prerequisite skill is that (6.1.5.1.) students compares,ranges
fractions and show them on the number line.
● We will put the materials and manipulatives on the desk and introduce them to the
students.
● The manipulatives and materials are consist of question cards and transparent
fraction cards.
● We will explain what we are going to do with them.
● We will introduce the procedures of the game.

● Middle
● Students are supposed to come to the each desk we designed in the learning center.
They will choose what the desk they will going to it individually.
● After they come to my desk, the procedures of game will start with choosing one
question card randomly. It should be yellow or blue because we designed them
according to their difficulty level. There is no crucial differences but green cards
have little bit more challenging. It will be used for the gearing up.
● I will want them to solve the questions on a paper that is located in front of them.
● In the event of situation that students could have difficulties to solve the problem
in traditional way, I will give some tricks or according to the students, I will want
them to wait the other student.
● I will get attention from them to announce my request.
● According to the questions that students pick, I will want them to find their
fractions written on the card from among the transparent fraction cards.
● After they found them, I will want them to demonstrate their solutions with cards
that they picked or I will want from students who had struggle with the solution
that they could try to start something from scratch.
● After they worked away to the problems, I will want them to give attention to the
study that we will do it together.
● In the desk, I will start from one student and her or his solution way that he or she
will explain it to the other student and I will try to provide making other students
to listen to his or her friend.
● We will share each of the students’ problems and their ideas about the solution.
● If there would be any mistakes or other problems, I will guide them to think about
what is necessary to find the right way. During this process, I will expect from
students to express their friends’ error.

● End
● We will discuss that what we done today in each group.
● I will ask them whether there are any thing that they obsess with it or I will ask
whether there are any thing unrealised.
● In the end of the activity, I will indicate that some explanations about he next
lesson what we are going to do with fractions in each group
