Here is the overall class proficiency with the North Carolina Essential Standards. As noted, there are only five standards where a
level of mastery was indicated and the others were completely in the remediation level. This shows that my class started the
year with little to no prior knowledge of content.

Students were taught to use the following strategy to annotate while taking computer based tests. It is used when facing
complex time consuming questions that are stumping the student. It prompts them to consider the topic, in the event that it is
repeated elsewhere on the assessment. Then eliminate incorrect answer choices and make a link to something that they already
know or describe what is confusing them. This allows students to engage in a deep thinking process prior to answering.
