AMIE Route At a Glance  
FOR DIPLOMA HOLDERS 
 You may apply for AMIE after passing Diploma in Engineering. 
 You will be given Senior Technician Membership. 
 You have to pass two sections – A and B. There are four subjects in Section A and nine subjects in Section 
B. You have to pass Section A first before going to Section B. 
 You have to go for ten laboratory experiments and project work after passing five subjects in Section B. 
 After passing both Sections A and B, you will be awarded AMIE. 
 
FOR NON DIPLOMA HOLDERS (10+2/B.SC. WITH PCME) 
 You may apply for AMIE after passing 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English. 
 Eligibility:  Intermediate/10+2/B.Sc.  with  Physics,  Chemistry,  Maths  and  English  with  45  %  marks  in 
aggregate and 45% aggregate in PCM and passed in English. Minimum age should be 17 years at the time 
of applying. 
 You will be given Technician Membership. 
 You have to pass two sections – A and B. There are ten subjects in Section A and nine subjects in Section 
B. You have to pass Section A first before going to Section B. 
 You have to go for ten laboratory experiments and project work after passing five subjects in Section B. 
 After passing both Sections A and B, you will be awarded AMIE. 
 
Prospects after AMIE 
 After passing AMIE exams, you will become Corporate Member of IEI.  
 You may appear in GATE Examinations for M.E./M.Tech. courses  
 You may now work as a Consultant in respective engineering field  
 You may sit in various competitive examinations viz. IES, IAS , MBA, and many more  
 You may get  promotions in many Government /Private/Public sector departments  
 You may apply for superior posts. 
 
Instructions to Follow 
 After  paying  fee  by  net  banking/direct  deposit  in  PNB,  you  have  to  apply  using  an  online  form  on 
www.amiestudycircle.com.  
 After receiving your fee, your course material will be despatched within one week. 
 You have to fill membership form given in this prospectus.  
 Enclose (non attested) 
o Xerox of high school(10th) mark sheet and certificate 
o Intermediate mark sheet(12th) and certificate (not necessary if you have done diploma after high 
school)  
o Diploma mark sheets (not needed for 10+2 student) 
o Provisional certificate (not needed for 10+2) as obtained from your polytechnic. If your 
provisional certificate is older than two years, then enclose Xerox of certificate obtained from 
Board of Technical Education. 
 Fill the form in CAPITAL LETTERS. 
 DO NOT WRITE DD DETAILS ANYWHERE.

 Write your permanent/preferable address as far as possible. You will get all the documents from IEI, 
Kolkata at this address. 
  Overseas students (Indian students working abroad) should write their INDIA address in the form. 
However, they may select any exam centre in India/abroad later while filling exam form. 
  Students from Nepal should write their NEPAL address on membership form. 
  CAUTION: If you have obtained membership years ago (old membership) and now applying again for 
membership, then pl do not write your older membership number in the form.

What we will do? 
 After receiving completed admission form, We will process your form and send it to The Institution of 
Engineers (India) by speed post.  
 You will get membership at your address within 2 months.   
 After getting membership, you may appear in AMIE exams twice a year(June and December).  
 You have to fill exam form at appropriate time for these exams. 
 
Course Material 
 The  entire  offset  printed  course  material  in  the  form  of  notes  is  divided  into  number  of  modules 
consisting of basic concepts and examples to bring out clarity.  
 At the end of the module, number of AMIE problems are given in assignment sheets with answers.  
 Objective type questions (Compulsory, 20 marks) are also incorporated at the end of assignment sheet.  
 The course is updated  regularly, and additional material/upgrade is always available on our website.  
 No text book / solved paper study is required with our course. 
 The course materials will be in English language by default, easy to understand.   
 AMIE syllabus is strictly followed.

1. After having fully understood the Information and instruction as given in the Annexure, I hereby apply for election as a Senior
Technician/Technician Member of the Institution of Engineers (India) in accordance with the Charter of Incorporation and the Bye-Laws as
they now stand or as they may be legally altered hereafter.
2. I also do hereby undertake that in the event of my election as a Senior Technician/Technician Member, I will be governed by the Bye-Laws
and the Regulations of the Institution as they now are or they may hereafter be legally altered and that I will accept as final and binding the
decisions of the Council in all matters dealt with by them in accordance with the provisions of the Charter, Bye-Laws and Regulations, and will
forthwith cease to describe myself as a Senior Technician/Technician Member or to designate myself as belonging to the Institution in any
other form, on receipt of a notice from the Secretary and Director General that acting under the powers conferred upon them by the Bye-Laws
and Regulations the Council have declared myself to be no longer as a Senior Technician/Technician Member of the Institution. I further
undertake that I will promote the objects of the Institution, as far as may be in my power, provided that whenever I shall signify in writing to the
Secretary and Director General that I am desirous of withdrawing from the Institution, I shall after the payment of any arrears which may be
due by me at that period be free from this obligation.
3. I have noted that the decision of the Council of the Institution shall be final in granting the Membership and the District Court at Alipore,
24 Parganas (South) shall have the exclusive jurisdiction in settlement of the dispute, if any, arising out of this Membership.
4. I accept the responsibility for the accuracy of the particulars contained in the Application Form with regard to my qualifications and agree that if
I am elected, the validity of my election shall depend upon the accuracy of such particulars as required in the Bye-Laws. I also undertake to
abide by Professional Conduct rules and/or Code of Ethics that the Council may frame from time to time.
